Received the Game On PIN late yesterday afternoon and called resv's early this morning to get a quote. We are planning to spend 6 nights during the first week of September and BC was our first hotel choice. They said that not only was BC sold out for the PIN those dates, but so were YC and BW! Has anyone else ever received a PIN and had the rooms not available at all of the hotels that they were interested in right away? We really want to stay in the Epcot area, so not sure what to do now...

Sorry, that's frustrating!! If it were me, I would see what else was available and see how much I could save. Then I would have to decide if saving money or staying the the hotel I wanted to stay in was more important!

There are some great resorts on the monorail. If being close to EPCOT is really important to you, jumping on the monorail can get you there fairly quickly!

Thanks for your reply. I thought about pricing the Poly because the theme appeals to me, but we are really Epcot people and we spend most of our time there. We stayed at BC last year for the first time and just loved the convenience of being able to pop in and out of Epcot at any time. I had my heart set on BC but would have considered YC or BWI, but no dice with them either. I was just wondering how common this is since I just received the PIN hours earlier, not like I waited weeks/months to call...:confused3

It may not be that the hotels are sold out - just not available for that PIN special. I wonder if the PIN offer is aimed at filling specific hotels - and the ones you want aren't on that list.

You could always book a different resort and keep checking back to see if something opens up at an Epcot resort.

We stayed at the Poly one September in the Rapa Nui buliding--you can see on the resort map in the first post of this thread, that it is the one of two of the closest to the TTC

It was a short walk (5 mins) to the TTC and we took the monorail to EPCOT and were there w/in 10 mins. I would think that would be about as quickly as you could get to EPCOT from BC, but idk really b/c I've never stayed there. It might be worth looking into the price on the Poly. Of course you may really just love the BC and not want to move and that's understandable too! Either way, have a wonderful trip! :goodvibes

If only this were true. We stayed at the Poly in May and both days we went to Epcot the Monorail was down.

The Swan and Dolphin have some really great rates for that time of year, probably cheaper than BC WITH a pin and are in the Epcot area.

I am sorry your not having any luck with the Epcot Resorts. I am not surprised that there was no availability, since your dates were included in the GP promo for 35% off that ended in March. Also with YC being a convention hotel and oft times BC and BW have overflow convention guests.

People say wait to book but if you really have your heart set on one particular resort I always book early discount or not. It is kinda close to be booking for September now and many resorts/room catagories are going to be booked up.

Thanks to everyone for your thoughts and suggestions. I will probably try to price the Poly just to see what the rate looks like and compare. The CMs said I can also call back to see whether anyone cancels, but I don't want to spend a whole lot of time doing that. Perhaps if I wait until close to the 45 days prior mark some folks may cancel before final payment. I guess if it's meant to be, it will work out one way or another. :)

I feel for you. I receive pins all the time, but I can't use 98% of them for one reason or another, usually travel dates. I will tell you, I do switch resorts if the one I want (and generally already have booked) isn't available. I swear fate doesn't ever want me to stay at the Poly (one of the last resorts we have left to try).
