Got a free dinner at the California Grill last night!

Because of the flooding or the burst pipe or whatever-- we were evacuated right when I was just about to pay!! They told us to go down to the first floor down the fire escape and never really explained what was going on. It was so weird; when we got to the lobby no one was there to tell us anything. I asked the concierge what to do -- we were just about to leave for E ticket night. I wanted to leave my name and CC#, but they said "no". I'm sorry for all those people who lost their rooms and I don't want to make light of it -- but it's not every day Disney pays for your dinner!!! Thanks WDW!

That's somthing you don't see every day. At that point they were probably more concerned about the problem then getting people to pay.

Talk about being in the right place at the right time...or wrong place at the right time, however you want to look at it!

So...what did you have to eat?

We let the chef make us vegetarian plates -- we always do that and they never let us down. It's always beautiful and interesting! There was polenta, vegetarian sushi, salad, mini flatbreads, rice with vegetables nuts and currants, green beans and scallopped potatoes (yum !!)

We had really expensive wine -- like I said, I tried to pay! I even told the Poly concierge staff about it and they said they'd contact us if our waitress wasn't going to get a tip (they thought WDW would take care of her). We had just finished -- I feel sorry for the folks in the middle of their meal!

I was wondering since I have reservations for the end of this week, did the restaurant reopen, and is it back up and running.
I would really hate missing the chance to eat there. Anybody know?
