Got a Disney box in mail. Whats the point?

I got one with a thumb drive awhile back... I use the box on my desk and keep note pads in it. Maybe they are trying to use what they have. I noticed they stopped sending the booklet with a trip remainder magnet attached too.

We just got the booklet in an envelope. No box. We also got an envelope with a letter from the Magical Express with the yellow luggage sticker/tags. None of the hard luggage tags like our trip in 2013. I had been waiting for this mysterious empty box lots of others a talked about before, but nope, just the booklet in a envelope. Disappointing. No magnet or anything.

I booked two separate trips - one at Pop for 2 nights, and one at the Contemporary for the next 2 nights. I got the booklet in an envelope for the Pop stay, and got the booklet in the fancy box for the CR stay. There was no flash drive, but there WAS the foam with the flash drive cut out part. I'm thinking that they already had the boxes, then decided that the drives were too expensive. Now they have to use up the boxes. I even called to see what the heck was going on. It really does make you think something is missing from the box.

I wish we got anything like this, I book directly through Disney but because we live outside the US we don't get anything in the mail

It just my boyfriend and I and I didn't even realize that most of the pictures included were just couples. Pretty cool. It also knew that we had been there before. Told me places to eat at Coronado. Explained the dining plan I was getting. It really is pretty personalized

There is a difference in being bothered by something and not understanding the logistics of something. It didn't bother me to get the mailing. I just couldn't understand the point of it. If they had sent the box as a token or gift with a note attached stating so, that would make sense. The box is cute for keepsakes and such. But the way it was packaged it made you think something was inside the box for you, and you open it to find a pamphlet. It was awkward. I can tell from your response that my feelings about this upset you pretty bad. Sorry about that! Didn't mean to "be a gun for you". That wasn't my intent though. Just was wondering if others had gotten the box and had the same thoughts I had and yep, it appears they did!

At least the MB box has something in it, like the box the OP just got used to have a thumbdrive in it (that told you to go to MDE...really useful, ha ha ha). But a box like that with a pamphlet in it is silly. It has to be simply because they want to use them up.

Bet some people on ebay would buy it, though!
