I did not even know about Disney discount codes until I came to DIS. One came in the mail yesterday, but my travel agent is on a cruise until 6/15. I would like to see if it can be used with my dates, run some numbers, etc.
It says only a limited number available at the 40% room discount.
What to do~what to do? :rotfl: :confused3

Does your agent have someone covering for him while he's gone? If not, you can make the reservation with Disney yourself then transfer it to the agent when he returns.

I'm currently on-hold with Disney changing client reservations to reflect PINs they received in the mail yesterday too. Must've been a banner day for Disney mail! ;)

:confused3 Well, kind of a bummer. I was quoted almost $8000 for a villa (w/discount) and no discount on family suites, and two rooms at budget only saves me around $300.

(family of 5~ 9 days)

I really thought a code was going to get me a deal. :headache:

That's why I never use a TA! Just book it yourself. :thumbsup2 It's so fun to call Disney why let someone do it!

Is there a reason you are looking at either the most expensive option or the least? I think the 40% off is a great deal on deluxe resorts, but the villas are so expensive when booked through disney that they still cost a lot. Maybe just try looking at some of the other options and it will seem like a better deal to you?? Trying to say this nicely, just on the values you dont save as much because they do not cost as much to begin with.

Your post states family of 5 for 9 days, what are the ages can you not all fit into a 1 bdrm villa which sleep 5? I know I am going in reg season same time the 40% pin is for, most 1 bdrm villa range between $515 and $525 a night so a $525 a night for 9 nights with the 40% disc +12.5% tax would only be $3189.37 total not $8000.00, which is a big saving since without the discount it would cost $5315.62 still not $8000.

:lovestruc Ok~you guys are why I posted this here. So much more knowledge. The person on the phone did not act like she wanted to help me much, or look at different options.

If you ever get an "unfriendly" cast member on the phone, politely say "thank you" and then hang up and call back. Not every single cast member likes their job and will do what they can for a guest. You should have better luck with another cast member. ;)

Forgot to answer above question.

I really did not know that there was a one bedroom option. I gathered from what she was telling me that my options were 1)family suite @ Jazz Inn 2)two rooms 3) two bedroom villa.

I took for granted that the rep would give me all options. :sad2:

Nope, that's why you booked with a travel agent! ;) Did you find out if anyone's on-call for your TA?

I do have to give a CM from today major kudos - she was concerned that the client I was calling about to upgrade from Value to monorail Deluxe with the monster PIN might be moving out of their price range so she quoted me WL and AKL as well. Totally sweet and the client loved it when I relayed the information. :lovestruc

You might want to call Disney directly yourself. I also received a 40% off code for 11/28-12/4. We are staying at the WL. We wanted the standard room, but none were available with the code by the time my agent called. Then we wanted a courtyard view. We got it, but my kids have to sleep in bunk beds, which they'll love but I'm a little nervous about. When I spoke with the agent she told me that again, there are no more courtyard rooms with two double beds available for those dates with that code. I'm glad that I called when I did, and we are happy with the room. I wouldn't wait too much longer. The room you want may no longer be available with that code when your agent returns.
