I just have a quick question. I called yesterday (Thursday) to book our wedding, the girl that answered took my information and told me that a wedding coordinator would call me back in 1-3 business days. Well, Matthew called back today and left a message while I was at work. Unfortunately, I didn't get home until just after 6:00 and he had left for the long weekend. My question is, will Matthew be my EM or is he sort of the middle man between the girl who answered the phone and my future EM? I didn't think we would be assigned an EM until later, but the girl I spoke with said that a wedding coordinator would be calling me back. Thanks for any help!

it depends. if you're a custom wedding matthew will most likely be your sales manager who will discuss ie locations, times, preliminary budget, etc. and confirm or place your wedding date/venues in a lottery. your event manager will be assigned at the 8 month mark when your contract is signed & deposit is made for your confirmed date & venues. your em will handling all the specifics ie meal, flowers, schedule, budget, etc.

We are having an intimate add-on. We went to our travel agent and booked the rooms on Thursday before we called. I know that we won't have a lot of planning to do b/c it is an intimate, but I'm still excited! I left him a message, but unfortunately I will be in Mexico when he calls back on Tuesday (unfortunate that I will miss his call, not that I'm in Mexico!!), but I'm leaving my mom with all the details for time and location so that she can get the ball rolling, so to speak. So, since it is an intimate, do you think Matthew is my EM? Sorry, just curious and excited!

Same exact thing happened to me. MAtthew called me back and set the date of the intimate add-on and then said my event planner will be in touch with me within 2 weeks. ABout a week later I was assigned to Jennifer. I guess it all depends ... I can only speak for my own experience. Good luck in all your planning.

Ok, thanks Skylarr. Sounds like Matthew is just the middle man. Still excited that it is finally beginning to feel real!
