Gosh, I've Got a "Cold" Sore

When I was a little kid I got teased unmercifully "Who hit you?". Then when I got older it was "You have herpes!". Yeah, well not THAT kind.

A friend of mine had the same thing throughout school and I rememeber her getting teased too...now she happens to work in a hospital so when ever one of those things break out they don't let her come back to work until its over...
Another friends mom also has one and she will yell and scream at you if you say its Herpes...she insists on cold sore LOL...

People are funny, aren't they? I just like to call it like it is!

The sore seems a bit more swollen this morning but it has stopped tingling and the "eruption" doesn't look like it is getting worse. I think I've got this thing under control and hopefully it will be gone in a few days.

Ughh, I hate cold cores. I always get them from illness, stress or the sun. I am vigilant about sunscreen on my lips all year long(has really helped my formerly chapped lips too! Bonus.)I have Zovirax and it works pretty well-cuts down the healing time a lot.

I was at my sons preschool the other day and one of the moms had her older son with her. He had a horrible breakout of cold sores all around his mouth and she was telling us how he's not allowed at school until it goes away. One of the other moms hadn't heard the whole story, so she asked what was wrong with him and his mother answers, loud as anything"He has herpes" I almost fell over!! The poor kid-he was about 8 or 9-old enough to be mortified.
