Trying to decide which camera to bring on board with us...we've taken our DJi Osmo Pocket Camera the last two cruises and it was good, just not sure if a GoPro would be better. This is the first cruise with the kids, so just want something that would work well walking around the ship, around the pools, dinner time, Castaway etc...I know the GoPro would be the advantage to take in the water, but other than that aspect, have others been successful or liked what they got out of the GoPro on the ship?

2 days into our 15 night Panama cruise, our camera was stolen in one of the clubs. We had the GoPro for the whole cruise and just kept shooting all the time. I was able to take stills from the video that worked great for scrapbooking the whole trip. I have 2 very full photo albums from that trip and no one knows they are all from the GoPro.

If you have both, why not bring both?

They each serve a different purpose.
For what it’s worth, we used the Osmo Pocket last month on the Dream.

My son says GoPro or don't go... LOL. We have great stills from the GoPro as well as video. I always bring my DSLR because I am a photo nerd. Not familiar with the Osmo, but if you have both, I would bring both.

Yup, bring both. I always do since they truly do serve different needs. I also have my Pixel phone on me for other video and night shots.

You may not need it but I would bring both. We got plenty of stills but it is fun to clamp the GoPro on the balcony as you sail certain locations and time lapse. I have a couple nice ones, NYC harbor the arrival morning of our WBTA and the glacier and fjord from Alaska.
