Assuming GoPro is a camera, you are correct . No cameras are permitted when you are in the water with the dolphins (for their safety and the safety of your equipment), but you can use them wherever else you would like in the park .
and you CAN have someone take photos from shore while you do the dolphin thing. Our first visit mom did not do the dolphin thing with us, but was the designated photographer (by choice)
Guests may use their personal cameras and recording devices throughout the park, with the exception of the dolphin lagoons (for the safety of our animals and your photo equipment). We do, however, allow other party members to take photos and record video of the interaction from our beach areas.
Not really answering your question, but we have one and are planning on using it there when just swimming. Do you use any attachments or do you just keep it in your hand when using it? We got one for Discovery Cove, but not quite sure how we will use it. Wondering how pictures will work out or if I am better to get a waterproof camera that has a view finder on it. I doubt my husband will go for another purchase though!
My son is planning on bringing his GoPro with him to DC. We bought him an attachment on Amazon that looks like a handle but is made of floating material. I also bought him the no-fog inserts which I read were a must for Florida.

Thanks - we will have to check on the no-fog insert. We were thinking the handle or something for the head or chest. We need to play with it some before we go!
