Gooooooooooooo Clay---SPOILER!!!!

I think Clay's comments were all in good fun. I believe he sincerely wishes Ruben well, as he said many, many times. You never really heard Ruben say much about how he would feel if Clay won. I think they actually horse around like two brothers would. Clay even said he considered to be his closest friend. I don't think I ever heard Ruben say generous words like those.

I think that he seems like a nig jokester, come on look at all the clips of the two of them, who was having more fun???you people take things way too serious! I personally think that Ruben didnt show any emotion towards anything last night..clay was genuenly (sorry about the spelling) surprised at the amount of people in his hometown, and in the audience,if he would have won(like he should have) he would have been emotional..

Ruben seems much quieter, whereas Clay is more the jokester. I thought his comments were in keeping with the general "showdown" theme of the show last night. He was as clear as he could be that he was very happy for his friend Ruben.

In my experience, introverts get quieter in nervewracking situations, but extroverts start talking. I think they reacted differently because of their personalities - but they both were clear that they had much respect for the other and both were gracious during the whole evening.

What should be interesting is if Simon's claim that their albums will come out the same week holds true. Album sales can't be controlled by busy signals...(although I guess some crazy fans could buy 20+ copies of the album.)

I think Simon meant their SINGLE is being released the same week. June 3rd was the release date for both singles, but that's been pushed back to June 10th. I heard this morning that Clay's single was going to be Bridge Over Troubled Waters instead of This Is the Night - people have already pre-ordered the other single, so it should be interesting to see if that's true or not.

I'm sorry but I think some people are taking this way too seriously. So Ruben won. Big deal. They were each deserving, they are both putting out CDs, it seems they both have promising careers in the offing, they are both talented singers with the support of many people in the music industry.

What will the title of American Idol really mean in the long run? If Clay goes on to have a fantastic career that spans decades will he really look back and think he could have gone farther if only he been the American Idol in 2003? Will he whisper "American Idol" on his deathbed a la Citizen Kane? I doubt it.

I had fun with this and got to have some fun at my sister's expense(she liked Josh)

I KNEW Rueben was going to win when he was picked to be the top 12! This is a Popularity Contest and Rueben was more Popular......Clay's voice is MUCH better than Rueben's and will hold up longer than Ruebens!;) Yes, I will buy Clay's CD. However, I see Rueben not lasting too long, where Clay will ALWAYS be in the Spotlight.;)

At the end of the show, when Ruben won, he clearly said "I love you man" to Clay.

I think Ruben and Clay are very fond of one another. They have come down a long road together. I hope they both find great success.
