Google your username

The first thing that came up for DeaverTex was from a spin-off forum (of which I am NOT a member) of this one, and they were mocking me for a post I made here a couple of years ago in which I stated "my approach" to raising girl-children. Apparently, humor and hyperbole are either unknown or forbidden on that forum.

I am so cynical these days---whenever a new thread pops up about "google your user name" I assume there is at least a 50/50 chance that the OP knows about that site and wants others to stumble onto it for some reason. Especially if it is a long time poster---it comes up often enough that it is hard to imagine so many are totally unaware of what could happen.

There's a model photographer / entertainment company with the same name, so everything that comes up is all about that. I've had this user name for 10 years and created it as an abbreviation for "I Do Disney" not slang for "I do this." I never thought of it as the latter until I just now googled it. Now I'm wondering how many people here read it as the latter "I do this." Now I want to change it!

Yeah, I always kind of assumed she joined when planning a Disney wedding and that was the reason behind the name.

I never thought of it that way, but I like it! Unfortunately I didn't have a Disney wedding.

I knew about that particular site, and I've actually seen that thread before. It's rather old. I was just surprised that it was the first thing that came up from DeaverTex.

Well I did it and found that other nasty site. I got called protentious, elitest and some other things alluding to the fact I'm a know it all. Now I remember why I left disboards years ago and now wondering why I even came back. I mean honestly if people want to talk crap like that they could at least do it on these boards instead of creating their own. Might need to change my twitter and instagram since it is the same thing although I typically only use my insta when I'm at Disney. It is sad how much cyber bullying there is and it appears to be grown adults doing it.

Many of the denizens of that board were banned from here several years ago, as I understand. Don't let 'em get under your skin. I've been trashed by professionals and believe me when I say that the people over there are rank amateurs.
