Google nexus 7 tablet?

I am thinking of getting one of these as a Christmas present and was wondering how people who have one like it as welll as where the best place to but it would be.

Haven't pulled the trigger yet since I am waiting to hear about the IPAD mini this week. But it is sounding like the Nexus will still be about $80 cheaper for the same 16gb.

Pros? Cons?

I got one as a wedding gift a bit over a month ago and I love it! It takes a bit getting use to because I normally use my iPhone and the buttons are different. However, I absolutely love it and have not had any problems with it! The people bought it for us from Staples.

I bought one for my dh for his bday this past summer and he has grown to love it.

We wanted Ipads coIuldn't afford them. I'm a librarian and have helped seniors with their ipads that their kids give them and I found this easy to use and intuitive. Only other apple products we own are IPOD Touches.

Since we couldn't afford Ipad, I thought the Nexus 7 sounded good. I didn't find it as intuitive and easy to use. BUT my dh got used to it. He changed everything for work over to google, (calenders, phones, emails, et) He now LOVES it.. He's done Powerpoint type presentations on it (don't ask me how) He's really using it to it's fullest capability.

Took it to a couple of conferences and found it easire to use than a laptop, and liked the size better than the bigger IPAD.

I have been looking between this and the Samsung Galaxy and I think I'm going with the Samsung. The expandable memory is huge for me. For $20, I can add an additional 32GB via SD card so I can get the $199 8GB version. Of course, like you, I'm also waiting to see what happens with the iPad Mini, but I'm 99% sure the Samsung will be a much better deal.

I love mine! I have an android phone, so easy for me. I have the 16 gb and so far have used about 9. I have one movie on it, 10 books, and I love to use it for facebook, twitter, email and words with friends. I got mine at Sams, $247.

Nothing official has been said by Google but some retailers have accidentally sold the 32gb for the same price as the 16gb.

The official announcement should be Oct29 at the press conference with retailers offering availability on the same day.

There should also be a 10" version announced.
