Hows this for an idea, like virtual stalkin if you will :rotfl2:

Have any of you got Google Earth on your PC's? there must be some, any way, if any of you are remotely interested in playing along, my post code is DY5 2RU.

Any one else?

Cheers

Steve

well steve you live 5 minutes from my house! lol

It probably isn't wise putting your post code on public domain guys; anyone could get it here...

As they say on the VMK boards:

Your Identity is your most valuable possession, Protect it!!

...then they link your postcode to your "Tickerfactory". As Pokemon Master says "Protect it!"

i get complete strangers from god knows where calling up all week trying to flog me crap. They know my name, wifes name phone number etc. Post Code, sorry cant see that that is going to create a huge security risk.

I have software at work that lists everypostcode in the uk and the full address.

You're going to Port Orleans Riverside for 3 weeks in 2007; (DY5 2RU) you live very near to my Aunt in Wollaston, Stourbridge; you haven't said exactly when in Sept 2007 you're on holiday, but you will nearer the time, and I know your house could probably be empty for the middle 2 weeks of Sept 2007....

...now, If I were an unsavoury character, your house would probably be on my list for a "special" visit.

I'd call that a security risk.

A fair point, but you have the whole street to go at. Plus the fact, I have heard stories in the past of baggae handlers at airports making notes of address of people flying out. If they want it, they will get it.

How many out there have an ex directory phone number and still get some bloke calling and trying to sell stuff. It is a very intrusive world, wheather you contribute to it or not.

And yep I know Wollaston, not fat at all.

Yes but from that you cant tell who is on holidays can you,I agree with Richard, from here some unscrupless people just looking in could have your postcode, check your ticker, and as you say finding out the acutal number of your address is fairly simple these days and have possible knowledge of when your house was empty.

You have to protect yourself and your property to the best of your abilty and I dont think its wise putting your postcodes on a public forum, just my opinion, and I personal would warn people not to.

By the way Rich, Who mentioned September?

Steve

Err...good question? I had a couple of beers last night and my tongue still feels a bit like an Orang Utan's posing pouch! I probably crossed referenced with someone else's "ticker". :teeth:

Give me another half hour and my brain will be working properly. :lmao:

No probs Rich, I will assume it wont be you breaking in and nicking the telly, as you might trip over us lol.

Drink what by they way, I have taken a strange liking to Magners Cider. I will be talking like Jethro and have a bloody huge red nose soon!

It is NEVER a good idea to put your address on your luggage label - a telephone number is all that is necessary or at a push a business address.

hey richard i live in wollaston...small world!
