There is a bit of a difference. It's been a while since I played with Google earth, but it's a downloadable program. They have a basic free on and then on up. They give you different views.
I love Maps, but Earth is tons of fun too! Earth has more 3D view. Can't wait to see what's up! I've got the 3D site set as my homepage so I'll know as soon as it's up!
