Double posting to share my first ever experience at Goofy's Kitchen last week. I hope this will be of help to someone
It was a fun Blessing to get to do a character meal on my actual birthday and a new one, at that

We arrived a good hour early and were able to be seated shortly thereafter which was awesome. Before being taken to our table, I enjoyed getting to meet Goofy! I thought that was a really nice touch to begin the breakfst and that the picture taking had its own designated area. The experience overall was disappointing to me though :/ I honestly felt like I could have been in any buffet restaurant that just had a character or two wandering around. When I have dined at Plaza Inn (the only other character dining I have done), it felt like I was at Minnie's breakfast. Minnie's is just so adorable and fun...Goofy's just wasn't. I also much prefer the simpler in some ways food choices at Minnie's, an exciting eater, I am not!
Characters at Goofy's did come around slowly and sporadically. There didn't seem to be a constant flow or pattern. In a way that was nice because it allowed for some quieter dining time but on the other hand maybe that is what lessoned the feel to me, I'm not sure!
On a Birthday, note, first of all, an aside, I am not a fan of being in the spotlight at all. However, I did hear a few people being sung Happy Birthday to by more characters who had come over to their table. When I asked a server about that, the server seemed to discount what I had seen and just said the characters just come around individually. I was wished Happy Birthday as I was seated and that was the only extra touch. I once went to Minnie close to my birthday but not on the actual day like I did Goofy's, and was given a birthday cupcake. I do know that can vary.
The character parade I asked about was a few characters waving white towels (not sure what that was about) as they marched pretty rapidly around. I did see several diners also waving such towels. I definitely can see where this would be exciting and such fun for young diners

I'd rather have the more immersive dining experience at Minnie's.
The cutest part of the whole thing was walking to Disneyland from Goofy's. It is a longish but not too long walk, btw. I stopped and took a photo with a Chef Goofy picture alongside a huge plate and silverware. Minnie's it is for me-- but now I know about Goofy's and I always would have wondered

One extra P.S. What was wonderful and I did want to be sure and pass along that when you dine at Goofy's you are able to self park at the Disneyland Hotel and have 3 hours free. The walk from the car to the hotel was very short, too.
Happy Dining to all
