We are thinking of doing both, but of they have have the same Charaters I would rather do a grown-up dinning than...

many characters are normally at each?
And which character are normally there?

Thank you

AG has only princesses. When we went in 2009 we saw Snow White, Ariel, Cinderella, Aurora and Belle. It was magical for DD6 and DS4 as the princesses come around to each table and say hello and pose for a picture.
We also did Goofy's kitchen as we were staying at the DLH and were up very early on a DCA morning so had time to kill.We saw an assortment of characters Chip, Dale, Goofy, Balou but also Alice and Jasmine. My kids were a little afraid of the very large characters like Chip, Dale and Balou but loved seeing Jasmine and Alice as they were lovely and nice.

There is usually one princess at Goofy's...that would be the only possible duplicate.
When we went in April, AG had Ariel, Aurora, Belle, Snow White and Jasmine. We also saw Snow White at GK later that night.

At Ariel's Grotto we saw Ariel, Snow White, Belle, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and maybe one more.

At Goofy's we saw Goofy, Max, Mad Hatter, Captain Hook, Mulan, Minnie and maybe one more.

We've also done Minnie's Breakfast and saw Minnie, Fairy Godmother, Tigger, Chip and Dale, Captain Hook and I think Pooh. I think that breakfast wasn't really worth the $.

I feel like the food is more sophisticated at Ariel's. You can order what you like. Goofy's is a buffet, and there's sure to be something you like. We liked Ariel's grotto when my daughter was at that magical age of 4 and was obsessed with princesses. She loved it. Now that she's older, I would probably go back to Goofy's Kitchen. Also, older boys would like Goofy's more.

Another tip is that we did Goofy's kitchen the day we arrived. We didn't want to waste our park tickets on a half day. This way we still had something Disney to do instead of staying in the hotel all evening.

I have never done Ariels before but at Goofy's it was mainly Goofy (obviously), Chip, Dale, Aladin and some others I dont remember:confused3

I would say do Ariel's Grotto if you want to meet princesses, that's all there is in Ariel's Grotto.

It's a great way to have the princesses come to you, and get to meet several of them. Way better than standing in a long line to only meet 3 of them.

The food is pretty good, not as good as it costs, but if princesses are your thing, the cost is definitely worth it.

Both are completely different characters outside of 1-2 princesses @ Goofy's. We were there back in June, and we saw 6-7 characters @ Goofy's, including Snow. The food was good and their was a wide buffet selection. The pic with Goofy is an extra cost unless you have the PP+. AG is all princesses, and the pic with Ariel is put on a standard PP. We saw Ariel, Belle, Aurora, Cindy and Snow. The food was good...it's a menu with a standard app and desert selection for the table to share. Both locations are totally different experiences. I preferred Goofy's for the food due to the wide selection (we did Sunday brunch). Also, we stayed @ DLH, so it made for a good mid-day break from hitting DL first thing Sun (the park was empty until 11ish), and then headed back to DLH for brunch and a swim break before heading back to DL later for dinner and evening rides/shows. AG needs to bring back the WoC package to make it worthwhile, IMO.

Someone also mentioned Minnie's, which was nice, but the food selection is less than Goofy's and the character interaction about the same in number (but different characters). The pic is also extra as with Goofy's. For those who are Worlders, Minnie's is like CP @ MK in WDW.

AG is all Princesses. You will always meet Ariel, she's at the bottom of the stairs, we usually also see Belle, Snow, Cinderella, Jasmine at our table, we have also been lucky enough to meet Mulan and Pocahontas once. That was the same trip, our girls were so excited to see Mulan and Pocahontas come around. lol
At GK we saw a lot of characters, however only 3 came to our table, of the 3 one was Snow, we had met her the previous day at the Animation Academy, she remembered and that thrilled the girls. We were not fans of GK, altho we did see many characters, as I mentioned only a few stopped at our table and we were not fans of the food either.
At Minnie & Friends we saw so many characters I can't even remember them all, and they repeatedly came to our table to "play". Chip & Dale constantly came over and stole DBF's hat and played with it, Captain Hook flirted with me, we had a lot of fun at that meal and the food suited our family much better. A lot of people complain about the food at M&F's but we quite enjoyed it!
