AAA is 10% off. Deluxe AP is 10% off. Premium AP is 15% off. I have never used GAT, but I recall someone else posting on here what GAT quoted as being the price for Goofy's, and it did not include the tax and tip portion of it, so when you add tax and tip onto whatever Goofy's is currently charging and then deduct your AP discount, the amount came out to be about the same as what GAT was charging. I don't think there was too much of a savings, as I recall. In fact, doesn't GAT charge a processing fee? So they may charge less for Goofy's but then zing you with their own fee, so it works out to be about the same in the end. I would check with Disneyland Dining first to see exactly what the current breakfast and dinner prices are or will be for the time you are going, because there appears to have possibly been a price increase in the last few weeks (and they will give you the total including tax and tip so there are no hidden fees), and then you can compare with GAT.

GAT dining tickets always include tax and gratuity. The Goofy's dinner is $40/adult and $18/child. They do not charge a processing fee for just tickets that are printed when you get to DL. There is a "Peace of Mind" insurance that is $10 that is usually added, but you can remove that prior to checking out. I would phone Disney Dining and price out the cost of the dinner for the exact dates of your trip - ask if tax and gratuity is included in the price. I know that not all character dining has tax and tip included in the price. Figure out any discounts you are eligible for - AP, AAA, etc.

Right, but I think this other person who posted a while back established that in the end there was no real substantial advantage to going through GAT because the savings were either minimal or non-existent. The only real benefit would be to have everything paid for in advance. But some folks may want to just make a PS and leave it open just in case they decided to change the PS. Disneyland Dining always gives the price with tax and tip included for Goofy's on the phone. Not sure what they do for the other ones.

Oh, and the breakfast prices apparently have not been increased, contrary to what I inferred from another DIS'ers post on a different thread; they are still $32.21 for off-peak times. Alway remember these guidelines:

1) Goofy's breakfast will always be cheaper than dinner, no matter what the season.

2) Off-peak season meals are cheaper than peak season meals, whether it be breakfast or dinner.

So by those guidelines, the Goofy's off-peak season breakfast - which is what you would get now - is the least expensive Goofy's meal you can have.

Thanks for the info! I knew y'all would know the answers!!!:woohoo:

In the Dining thread today, got2travel just posted a link to pictures of the Lilo and Stitch buffet:

And yesterday, on page 82 of the Dining thread, J.C.andAli'sMom posted a BUNCH of pictures of about 85% the Goofy's breakfast buffet spread. Make sure to check them out: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1253888&page=82

Let us know which one you choose! I am a diehard Goofy's fan, but those Lilo and Stitch pictures make me want to try it one time, just to add a new experience to the repertoire! It looks awfully good! I will always include Goofy's in my trips, though! I just have to decide which other character meals to add in to the mix. Lilo and Stitch or Minnie and Friends. Hmmm...... decisions, decisions....

Sherry E thanks for the links! Goofys looks REALLY YUMMY! I'm sure we'll go to Goofy's for dinner during our trip...the info and pictures cinched it for us! We've only done Ariel's during all our other trips but we have a out-of-park day that I'd like to fill with some Disney magic somehow and thought a character meal would be great fun for our friends traveling with us who have never been before!

On our Adventures By Disney trip we got to have breakfast at Goofy's Kitchen, Minnie and Friends and Storytellers. We liked Minnies best and will do it again.

Oh, you are welcome! I am always too busy eating or mingling with characters at Goofy's that I never get up and snap pictures of the buffet, so I was so glad that J.C.andAli'sMom posted all those photos to give everyone a good idea of what the spread is like there. I think pictures really make a big difference in helping folks decide whether or not they want to eat somewhere and are not sure if they want to pay the money. Since character meals are not cheap in any way, it is great to be able to see lots of pictures beforehand to feel confident about choosing where to eat.

And I had never seen much from the Lilo and Stitch buffet at all until Got2travel posted the link to those pictures. So that helps give me a much better idea of whats there.

I know what you mean about filling your out-of-park day with some kind of Disney magic. I always feel depressed on the day when we have to leave DLR, and we don't always go back in the park on our last day, but I hate to just abruptly cut off the Disney magic because we are not in the parks. We have done the whole 'wander through Downtown Disney' thing and eaten at those places - which are good, but they are not Disneyland-specific. Usually we do our character meals on the first morning we are at DLR, or maybe the second morning. The final day is always a non-character thing. So now I am re-thinking all of that. I think doing a character meal on the last day - especially if we are not going in the parks at all - would be a great way to still get a final dose of Disney magic before heading home. But a character meal is always a great way to BEGIN a DLR trip, too! So, I will just have to do one on the first day and one right before we leave DLR. That's the only solution!:goodvibes

Hopefully your friends will be happy with your choice in character meals!! There is so much to choose from and the food is so good that everybody should be content!

Hmmm.....Minnie and Friends is that good, huh? Okay, so that is my dilemma for a second character meal. (Goofy's is always first.) Minnie's or Lilo and Stitch. Have you done Lilo and Stitch, Nunzia? I can do without another character meal at Storytellers again, so I can cross that off the list. Was it the characters at Minnie's that you liked best, or was it a good balance of characters and good food? It does look like they have some good characters, from what I have seen. Because I could tolerate fewer characters as long as the food is really great, rather than a zillion characters and blah food. I would rather have a good balance. I have heard mixed reviews of the food, but everyone seems to agree that the array of characters is impressive at Minnie and Friends.

I usually pre-purchase a character meal. Sometimes it's a big savings, sometimes it isn't. It's very convenient, however, to have it all done ahead of time. I know for Goofy's, Minnie's, and Ariel's, the tax and tip is included. I don't know about Storyteller's and Lilo & Stitch, but I no longer see them offered on either website I've used (see below) so I'm not sure you can pre-order those online. I didn't check Getaway to see if they mention those 2.

In addition to Getawaytoday, you can also try AAA http://www.res99.com/nexres/activit...04/30/2009&to_mm=&to_dd=&to_yy=&search=SEARCH if the link works and Anaheim/OC website http://hotels.anaheimoc.org/1282_attraction-tickets_a18.html?ticketID=587. Currently, it doesn't look like either one saves you any money over just making a reservation and paying when you get there. You might save more by using a AAA or AP discount without pre-purchase. As I said, though, it can be very nice to have the cost taken care of, and the vouchers are generally good for a year. Just don't forget to make a PS reservation!

DizMe - thanks for the links! I think its cheaper than getawaytoday. I like to buy in advance as much as possible so I don't worry about how much $$$ I'm really spending!!!!

We did the Lilo & Stitch breakfast a few years ago and really enjoyed it. In the past we've always eaten at Goofy's and on occasion Ariel's Grotto. So it was quite a departure. It wasn't as crowded so our table received alot more attention than usual from the characters. Kids loved it.

I wish Ariel's Grotto had something for boys too as dd & I really like their food. DS is absolutely not into the princess thing so balks at the thought of going there.
