DAY 7 - 21st December 2005
Weather Report: Sunny with patchy cloud. Cool in the morning but warming up during the day.
Mini-Golf and Dinner at Boma
We ended up having another slight lie-in this morning and while playing with the TV found out how to use the TV Internet
So after catching up on the all the DIS news we headed off to have breakfast at Tubbies.
I had toast with a side of sausage and bacon again
After breakfast we took the short walk over to the Fantasia Gardens Mini-Gold courses. We used our AP discount (50% off!) and played the normal mini-golf course rather than the one that looks like a proper miniture golf course.
We had a great time, and as always I took it vary seriously and easily won
Some of the holes were very imaginative.
Jade has quite a swing on her - must remember to wear a crash helmet next time we play golf!
Once we had finished the 18 holes we headed back to the hotel pool for a swim and a rest (this golf takes alot out of you!).
We got the girls a large rubber ring each (not bad value for $4 each) and found some suitable sun beds near the main pool.
It took a while to actually get into the water, but one in it wasn't too bad!
I spent quite a while in the pool with the girls while Julie chilled out on a sunbed.
Around 3pm the sun started to go behind the trees round the pool and the temperature started to fall, so we called it a day and went back to the room to change for dinner at Boma.
Our ADR was for 6pm and Lorraine had managed to get an ADR for 6:15pm, so we hope that if we arrived early we could ask for adjacent tables
To get to Animal Kingdom Lodge we had to get a bus to AK and then transfer to the AKL bus. We timed it well and as we got of the bus from the Dolphin the AKL bus oulled up and we jumped straight on, so it didn't take us too long to get to AKL
We got to AKL early while it was still light so we could see the animal from the viewing rock.
We also sat on the rocking chairs round the firepit (which was lit), remembering our last trip in 2003 when we stayed at AKL for a few days.
About 5:45pm we headed down to Boma to wait for Lorraine and family. We only had to wait for around 5 mins. before they all arrived. When we went to the desk to anounce ourselves we asked if we could be seated the same table or adjacent tables and they said they would try.
A few minutes later our vibrators went off and we were shown to two tables for 4 next to each other
After ordering drinks (cokes), we started the first of multiple trips to the buffet
Don't ask what all this was - it was all nice though
Dining Review:
We all had the the standard adult buffet. Plenty of choice from the normal to the adventurous African dishes.

Total cost - $85.17 (after DDE discount).

We took quite a while over dinner chatting and then went back to the lobby to exchange Christmas presents.
It was then back to the hotel in time to catch Illuminations from our room
