Goofy Jets closed permanently?

The wife just informed me that the goofy jets have been confirmed as permantly closed. Now I usually just take her word for things but such crazy news as this required further confirmation. I did a quick search of the Dis and only came up with threads saying that the jets were down but I did not come across any thread stating it was permanent.

Can any of you Diser's either confirm or deny this most henious rumor?

Those jets were honestly the reason i never wanted to go to any other value(probably even mod for that matter) resort . The kids enjoyed them that much.

Yes. Unfortunately they are gone for good. Not sure if anyone has confirmed what will replace them.

We visited Pop Century a few weeks ago, and I was surprised to see the splash pad replaced by a solid cement pad.

Yes, the water jets are gone, and it sure looks permanent. The Stingray and Goofy are still there but not the water.

That makes me so sad, My kids loved the Goofy jets.

This "COULD" be another indication that Pop Century and Art of Animation will be Sister Resorts.

The All-Star Resort only has one water play area(Movies) and AoA is scheduled to have the Schoolyard water play area in the Finding Nemo courtyard.

Just a possible reason for the Goofy popjet closure.

Well it has been a very long time since they were working if I recall correctly. I know they were down for our entire trip last march and I remember reading about them not working well before we went. So maybe there is some other mechanical reason?
