Goofy has now closed

I just saw on the Goofy page that they reached the capacity of 3000 runners. People can still sign up for each race but they won't be able to get the Goofy medal.

Registration Update...Goofy's Race and a Half Challenge has reached registration capacity and is now closed. Congratulations to the 3,000 athletes who have registered to be a part of Goofy's Race and a Half Challenge.

Important Registration Update
In 2006, the WALT DISNEY WORLD® Marathon Weekend introduced Goofy's Race and a Half Challenge, where athletes can run in both the Half Marathon on Saturday and the Marathon on Sunday. There was an overwhelming response for this program with 2,373 participants completing the first-ever Goofy's Race and a Half Challenge.

After evaluating the success of the inaugural event, race organizers concluded that 3,000 was the ideal number of runners for Goofy's Race and a Half Challenge. As with individual events, the cap is necessary in order to regulate course capacity and maintain participant satisfaction and safety.

As of now, Goofy's Race and a Half Challenge registration has reached its registration capacity. The 3,000 spots have been filled and Goofy's Race and a Half Challenge is now closed. Goofy's Race and a Half Challenge will no longer be accepting registrations. Even if you register for both races, you will not be considered a part of Goofy's Race and a Half Challenge and will not receive a Goofy Medal.

If you have already registered for one race and register for the other race at this time, you will not be considered part of Goofy's Race and a Half Challenge and will not receive a Goofy Medal. Wow! I can't believe that filled up so fast!! I'm glad I was able to get in there! Now, hopefully I'll be able to finish both races in two days!!!!
