Goofy 2007! I'm ready! Now...where do I stay?

Hola peeps!

First of all, I'm doing my very first WDW race! I'm supremely excited about that! Soo...being that it will be my first one, I would like to know where you guys like to stay when you're there that weekend.

I booked a room at Boardwalk Inn. Is it walkable to Epcot? Also, if any of you guys have stayed there, which room do you recommend? Is it also a little quicker at night due to all the runners having to get up at 2:30am?

I want details details details!!!

You won't be able to walk to the start area, but you will be able to walk back if you take your park pass of course. I did that these last 2 years. There area busses running to the start that you must catch. They are not the WDW busses, rather you catch the bus over at the convention entrance (not too far from WDW bus stop at BW). Enjoy!

Thanks! That really helps. I want to be as prepared as possible. Have you stayed at BW or know of anyone else who has stayed there during marathon weekend?

Several of us are staying at Beach Club, which is where I stayed last year. Great location for the race! You could certainly walk over to Beach Club and hang out with us to wait for the bus in the morning.

I have stayed at BWI several times and did stay there for the marathon. You will have to take a bus to the start of both races--no time is saved by staying at BWI in regards to race start. I did enjoy walking back thru EPCOT at the end of the race to get back to the resort. It does require a park pass to do this---you have to re-enter the park and walk thru to the International Gateway entrance. I felt like walking back helped loosen me up and alleviate a bit of the lactic acid build up.
It is going to be difficult for me to stay on the monorail bcs I really enjoy the EPCOT resort area. But, I have decided to stay monorail and use that as transportation to the start of both races since we are going GOOFY this time around.
I don't have any specific room recomendations at the BWI. Sorry!!! We stayed Concierge and really enjoyed it!
