I saw where several people have posted this idea and I would like to do some bags for two 10 year old boys. My son and his friend, we are taking this year.

Any suggestions on what to put in them? Cheap!

Thanks for the help!

I always make my goody bags for my boys, but they are still young (5 and 7) But you could have....

-energy bars or breakfast bars
-trading cards
-If he collects any kind of toys: Hotwheels, yu-gi-ohs actions figures, pokemons ect..
-gameboys games(I bought them used at funcoland for 5.00)
-money (for games rooms)
-music cd they like(mke them in your computer)
-temporary tatoo (they are 5.00 and up at the resorts) I bought them at the dollar store and got them with disney characters

I hope this helps:D

I am taking 3 pre-teens and 3 younger children I am going to leave suprises every morning these are some of the things I got so far
Personal fans
Alien Glow Pops
Glow Necklaces
Water Snakes
T-Shirts
Temp. Tattoos
I got these great gummi snacks (I know shame on me) they look like a tray of food, so cute.
Mini Wonder balls- 10 to a package at Walmart-disney related
Water Bottle Straps
you could include a mister fan instead of a personal fan since you are bringing only two kids. We have one mister fan we share.

I made up little travel booklet with madlibs (type found on Nick.com) and mazes (can get disney related) and word searches (also disney related), I found on the internet. We are driving so I am going to include a listof the states for license plates. . I am bringing color books and crayons and markers, game boy and games, believe it or not my nephew loves (12 now) those figurines you can buy at disney. He spends a long time playing with them, so I packed the ones we bought on our last trip.

Gum or candy
My dollar store had the bouncing ball on an elastic leash like they sell at the AllStar resorts. My son has always wanted one and you have to walk by them to get anywhere at the resorts so this year he will get one.
hand held games
a book for the travel days
glow sticks

In the past, when my boys were younger, I used to record my voice reading their favorite stories and give them a cassette player & headphones to listen to while traveling. We put the book & cassette & player into separate zip-loc bags and they would listen to them over and over until they were ready for the next one. Now, you can pick up a fairly cheap cd player & headphones and they can take their own cd's to listen to. I found a "headphone adapter" in the luggage department at Walmart that allows 2 headphones to hookup to one cd player and both headsets can listen to the cd at the same time. (It was in the luggage department - $5-6) My sons are teens and they suggest any type of hand-held game, either Gameboy (if he already has one) or other battery operated games, books and magazines of their interest, and cd's of their favorite music for your son and his friend. They express confidence that that is all boys your son's age really needs.....snacks have been overlooked, I fear! :) Lots and lots of snacks and drinks!!

I have a cheap easy idea I just did for my DD9- I made her a travel journal. I downloaded the "disney font", and tons of disney clip art simply by typing disney font and disney clip art into Google. I then made the pages in my word processing program. I did a page for each day, where she can record what we did, what was her favorite moment, where we ate, what she is looking forward to tomorrow. I also including pages that allow her to list "the Best of MGM, Epcot, MK,etc" and places to give her opinion about the best attractions, characters, food, parade, night shows, etc. I also included an address page with our family and friends addresses so she can send postcards. It was a lot of fun to make, and kids this age love to write and give their opinions. I printed it all on cardstock, and placed them in a white binder with pockets to hold little items she likes to collect, such as maps, napkins from her favorite restaurants, etc. Have fun on your trip!!

We are getting our goodie bags together...they are for girls (6&11)...but I'm sure some of the stuff would work for boys...We are flying and plan on giving them the goodie bags before we leave the morning of the flight. So I've tryed to get things to keep them busy while traveling...not sure what your plan on goodies were for. So far we have.....a sketch/doodle pad (they love to draw). Disney pencil to doodle with. Gum. Mickey fruit snacks. Lion King animal crakers. A deck of Mickey cards for each of them. Mickey Bubbles (not for in flight...but for waiting in the airports). I also got them some crayons, markers and a couple coloring books for each of them. I was trying to thinks of things that would keep them busy but not disturbe others around them. I am still planning on getting them some mini bratz dolls...which I'm sure the two boys traveling with you wouldn't enjoy...but if they are into any sort of small toys...that don't make a lot of noise it may be an idea. Oh we also got them each a little battery operated fan from the disney store...for hot days in parks.

I did get a few items (goodies) to be handed out durring the trip...after tavel. Things like disney tooth brushes and toothpaste. New Disney related pjs and of course a stuffed mickey mouse. Oh I am also planning on getting some glow sticks before we go...I'm sure they cost a good amount in the park.

Hope this gives you some more ideas on things to get.

Ive been gathering ideas and items for some time now....looking for sales and good deals and getting things when I find what I want at a good price.

Thank you all so much for the ideas, it really helps. I could not get past the Gameboys and CD players, but everyone has come up with great things. Keep them coming if you have any more.

One other question, we have been to disney several times, and universal. Are the glowsticks a necessity for kids? I see where everyone suggests them, but why? Maybe I am missing something.

glow sticks/necklaces are not "necessary" but it's hard to resist them if you are in a park and they are selling them... so, in an effort to appease the kids, and save a bundle, bringing them from home (dollar store or oriental trading) is cost-effective and still "fun!" :)

gigi1313 said it all. They are not necessary...but kids love them..and when they see them for sale they will want them.

Although I haven't been to WDW i can guess they cost alot...more than they should. At the 4th of July event that we go to...they try selling the sticks and necklaces for atleast $5 each. Which is way to much for a little tube that will be worthless by morning. But for as little as .50 each...I can handle that. We plan on ording some online.

My boys are bigger....my 16 yo is over 6' tall. He does not like to take alot of the littler things on the plane because it takes up his leg room to pack all of that. I think that is why he suggested the electronic games and cd's. He is not a big fan of carrying all of those little things thru the security section to have it all gone thru or dumped out, either.

My younger son is not that tall yet, but he does not like to carry much from plane to plane, either.

Last year, I packed glow sticks and I thought I did a good job but when we opened them, they had already been activated. This time I am going to look up a dollar store when I get to Orlando and buy them locally so they will not be ruined when the boys want to use them.
