Goodbye Figment

I feel like for me (and I'm sure others) Figment is as much part of Epcot as Spaceship Earth. I just don't see them removing him. He's always been my favorite Disney character and nothing will ever come close to beating out the original Journey Into Imagination for my favorite ride. He's featured on a lot of merch - and now has magic bands. Like PP's said, there is still a demand for him. I don't see Bing Bong on anything current like Figment is. (For what it's worth, I super love Figment and didn't realize until this thread that he even had a FB page.)

Figment is a classic park character! I've loved him since I was a kid, and I'll forever be a fan. I hope he's always somewhere in the Imagination pavilion, and while the attraction could definitely use some updating I don't think they'll remove him from being the star of the attraction.

I don't understand the sudden vapid need for everything at DW to tie into a movie franchise. Froway comes to mind as the poster child for this. Why can't the parks have their own stand alone characters and mascots? It never bothered me as a kid visiting wdw, in fact i really liked it.

They have plenty of space in Epcot to add an Inside Out ride attraction. That park needs more attractions anyway. So I say Leave poor Figment alone or just give it an update AND add a totally new ride. Inside Out Roller Coaster anyone?

When I went on the UnDiscovered tour in Epcot last year september, our guide told us the rumour that the space above Figment might be used for something Inside Out-related. I haven't been back since, but that's not where Joy & Sadness meet, right?

Upstairs became a DVC lounge

I would prefer that they take park characters and turn them into major film franchise (see Pirates of the Caribbean). Figment could be huge if they did an animated film or even like a Disney Channel show and made it similar to the recent comic books with him and Dreamfinder travelling through different worlds. If they make whatever it is with quality, they have a lot of sure-fire hits to be mined from park IP.

I almost had a heart attack when I saw this title and thought Figment was leaving.
I love him!
My son hasn't been on the ride yet but has a stuffed figment and loves to listen to the One Little Spark song.
Figment must stay!

Love Figment, but I don't know anyone who is not a WDW lover that even knows who Figment is. Bing Bong was really cool in that movie, but I don't see the connection to what is happening there. Are they changing everything?

I think the OP is its just doing some wishful thinking.

As much as I love Figment the current version of the Imagination ride is just terrible. The only way to save Figment, IMO would be the bring back the original version of Imagination or something close to it in some form. I wonder why Disney has yet to give him his own TV show on Disney Junior. A show about Imagination starring Figment would be a perfect way to get the character out there.

Epcot is practically a lost cause at this point so yeah, whatever, I don't care anymore. :(

Hello everyone, I'm the only person in the world who could care less about Figment! :p
I also remember the original ride from when I was a child in the 80's, but feel no nostalgia at all for him.

However, I would give almost anything (within reason ;) ) to be able to ride Horizons again! Or World of Motion. I actually can cry if I watch old videos on you-tube, I get so nostalgic.

Figment is a beloved character and has been around for ages. Not only is he still popular, but he has loyal following of fans who grew up with him and are now introducing him to their children. While agree the ride needs some updating, to remove or replace it would be devastating to its fans. I don't think they will.

And what's inside out anyway?!?! ::sarcasm::

Count me as one that would NOT want to see Figment go. I would love to see a refurb, returning the ride to something that more closely resembles it's original concept, and see the upstairs Image Works restored. A new 4D film also featuring Dream Finder, and Figment would be a wonderful addition.

Then, to put the icing on the cake, they could open the Wonders Of Life pavilion with a new Inside Out theme!

I feel the same way for "If You Had Wings". I can still hear the song in my head. I don't even think it's on YouTube.
