Good youtube videos for room categories

Her videos are pretty bad, there’s no actual room tours and she bases her best/worst off of info from touring plans and other sites meaning she hasn’t stayed in many of these rooms herself.
ok
Search Here with the Ears! They lived at Disney for a year and have a video for every resort and room size! I really like their videos. There are also virtual tours of DVC rooms that you can search on the web :)
we’ll I’m a little jealous 🤣

ok I won’t watch these lol

We started skimming through their videos for the parts where they point out all the Hidden Mickeys, just for a giggle. Wonder if anyone has pointed out to them that the whole fun of Hidden Mickey's is for people to discover them on their own?

That and we used to joke that he makes her stay out in the hallway as you never see her after the open (we know it's because she follows him through the room, opening all the beds).

Having said that, they do have a very comprehensive collection of videos, although their year at Disney is now 2 years old and resorts are getting renovated at a quicker pace now, so some are outdated. It's funny how current owners prefer the videos with no talking. We especially like 4KWDW for just general resort and theme park walkarounds because he NEVER talks...LOL
lol I’m short on time so the less chit chat the better

I subscribed to it! Hey question- so far most that I’ve read on here or been told is a june UY would be great for August OR Nov/ Dec travel. However- dvc resale site says this “an October “Use Year” for someone that consistently travels in November would be ideal because if they cancel that November trip within 30 days of checking in they still have until October 1st of the following year to use those points.”
Should I ask in here in the forum what makes better sense? I was printing out June UY resale listings only, but now I don’t know
I think what the resale site is trying to say is that it gives you more time to use your points in the event you have to cancel within the 30 day mark. When you cancel within 30 days, your points go into a holding account and would have to be used in the use year. You would no longer be able to bank them. It gives you a year to book a new reservation and use the points :) I have a February use year because our plan was to travel mostly in February. Now we travel all months of the year. I don’t think it would be bad if you purchased a June use year for travel in November if there is a contract that you really like for June 😊

I’m kind of on the fence on how important the use year is, in general, only because you’re planning on traveling two kind of separate timeframes. I think I would consider which resort you’d want home resort advantage for that season.

Like, your November/December trips for the holidays, if you’re pretty confident you want MK/GF/CC, those are small resorts that book up instantly, and I would want an October use year. Realistically, do you expect to cancel holiday trips?

Since you’re starting from scratch resale, I think I would be open to almost any use year except December since that could be a PITA with holiday trips. If you’re using DVC to it’s best advantage and booking your home resort at 11 months and putting a reminder on your phone at 7 months to modify, you shouldn’t have a huge problem with your reservations. Whatever you decide on resale, just consider matching UY if you do direct later on.

We have a September UY because when we bought, our kids were 6 and 7, not involved in sports and rigorous academic schedules, and the “cheap” points season was the first two weeks of December, dovetailing nicely into holiday decorations and 3/4 family birthdays.

Now we pretty much have to travel February vacation, April vacation, Thanksgiving week, or in the dead of summer. I can envision a spring/summer use year being better for us since those are now our more probable travel times. Your kids’ schedules will dictate and change when you’re going to go anyway.

I would look for the first resale contract at your desired resort and not stress too much about which use year it is if the price is right.

What I WOULD do is buy DVC travel insurance. It’s pretty cheap, and that’s helpful for last-minute snafus.

Agree and they're about twice as long as they need to be.

Agreed. Out of everyone on youtube I watched for room tours and DVC info in general her vids were definitely some of the least useful. You can tell she's just reading off a script and her videos are not edited. If they are, they aren't edited well. She also doesn't show actual images/videos of the rooms as I imagine like you said she likely hasn't stayed in them and just shows her face the whole time. Magic in the music, Ohana 626, DVCfan and Here with the Ears are all superior.

Here with the ears also sorts their videos by playlist so you can find the specific resorts pretty easily.

hello does anyone have any direct links to some DVC room tours? I’m trying to search through YouTube and it’s just a lot to fish through and some of the videos they just talk a whole lot and I don’t really need that. There’s just a couple rooms I have yet to see in person - this would include rooms at VGG, Poly ( the resort room not interested in bungalow) and BW. I have been in AKL, BC, and SS. Thanks for your help!
I have asked the DVC person at the booths at each DVC and they have found me a room to look at , if not right away the next day. At Poly they asked the desk and found a room, BW had one for showing. The wide-angle cameras in some videos really distort the rooms. You would be surprised at how much larger Poly or VGF2 rooms are compared to SSR / BLT or CCV. Also just because the studio is small does not mean the 1br is small OKW and BLT have great 1/2BR and not-so-great studios IMO.

I could save you some time LOL - RR has the best overall studio, Poly has the best bathrooms for 5 in a room. And VGF1 has the best laundry room and an above-average for DVC studio.
