I'm curious what suggestions people have to use snack credits that perhaps the less knowledgeable (new to disboards) like myself may not be aware of. In the past when I did DDP I used the snack credit for either a drink or ice cream (love me some mouse ear ice cream!). We are going in October this year and I thought I heard you can use a snack credit at the EFWF but not sure details on that. I'm also guessing there are a lot of snack options that I haven't explored that may be better than my typical approach of hitting up one of the carts inside the parks. Any and all sugestions are welcome!

You can use snack credits at the festival.

Here are some of my favorite ways to use snack credits:

MK - Dole Whip Float - ice cream cookie sandwich (not at an ice cream cart) I picked ours up at Main Street Bakery.
HS - Carrot cake cookie or red velvet cupcake
AK - fried rice, egg rolls, or a jalapeno cheese stuffed pretzel
EP - School Bread or a almond pretzel from Norway, pastries in France, The Karamel shop in Germany.
DTD - I love the create your own treat in Goofy's candy shop.

There is a list on the boards for the 2013 approved snacks. There is also a photo thread!

Once they open, Starbucks drinks will be snack credits!:cool1::cool1::cool1:

I'm going in the fall, so I'm sure I'll spend a couple of them on Pumpkin Spice Lattes!

Thanks for the great suggestions as a lot of those sound good and I would not have considered them before. Also, thank you very much for those links! I'll have to study them and come up with some good plans on how to spend the snacks. Knowing they work at the festival though lets me know where at least a couple will likely be spent. :woohoo:

Uh-oh, My parents are going with me and when they find this out I know all of their credits will go to Starbucks if they have their way! ;)

Would anything under 3.99 be considered a snack credit. My son is a very picky eater and we have a ress. at rose and crown pub where I know he won't eat. Someone mentioned the boardwalk pizza window but how does that work on the dining plan? Is one slice of cheese pizza a snack credit? And would they take two cs credits for a whole pizza?

I don't know how old your son is, but there is cheese pizza on the kids menu. http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining/diningdetail.cfm?restaurant.id=128

We love R&C, including DD9...she's not too picky though. We upgraded her to adult when we had dining plan. You can always order OOP the pizza off the kids menu...I think that is accepted.

I was told the boardwalk pizza windows pizza is more of a thin crust pizza than the standard ones they sell on the kids menu (which he hates). We have ress later in the week at Via Napoli which is his favorite kind of pizza. And there's always Wolfgang pucks express in dtd. There flat bread pizza is great!

My best snack credit use: special treats to bring home. We are a family of 5, and rarely used 5 snack credits at a time (2 Dole Whips at a time was plenty! LOL) So we had lots of unused snack credits. I used them to get several chocolate caramels from Karamell-Küche at Epcot to bring home both for us and as souvenirs for my mom. The kids also each got one of those gigantic rainbow lollipops off Main Street to bring home. It was a great way to extend our vacation & let Disney provide our first few desserts after we got home.

Other great uses for them:

cinnamon rolls at Gaston's Tavern for breakfast one morning (3 were plenty for the 5 of us!)

cupcakes for the kids if you do BOG for lunch (where dessert isn't included in the kids meals at lunch).

I had no idea that you could use snack credits to purchase some of those!

And that's why I maintain those threads! The more you know, the better your trip (IMHO) ;)

My favorite snacks are Breadsticks and Marinara (at POP, etc.) Glazed nuts, any ice cream sundae, desserts at Sunshine Seasons or French Bakery, and many F&WF items.

Note-some items at F&WF are pretty cheap-less than$2. Maximize your savings by using your SC for the more expensive items (Lobster, etc.) and pay OOP for the lower priced items. (some desserts).

Happy Dining!

Yes, thank you very much for that thread. I feel like a whole new world has opened up to me now that I know better how to use my SC! I'm not exactly a foodie but I do love me some food, especially things I don't get most days, so having a chance to try new things is exciting for me. It makes me realize that if there is a chance something could count as a SC and is up toward the $4-$5 range then I might as well ask and see. :thumbsup2
