Hey everyone, I finally have the computer long enough to do an update.
I will follow this up with PM's with my address.

A. PM me with your DIS name, name and address - so I can pre-address the return envelopes.
B. Post your weekly status on the Progress thread - which will be posted after the slots are filled.
C. Check the progress thread for your status - it will be updated with ship info and received info.
D. Packing Instructions - use a Ziploc for each person and put everything for that person into their bag. Please label each bag with your name so we know who made each element. You‘ll have 6 bags to enclose in the larger (gallon size) Ziploc bag. - be sure to include your name, your DIS name. On the larger envelope please put your mailing address on your bag.
E. Please use the Flat Rate Envelopes ($4.05) or the Flat Rate Box ($8.10) to mail your packages of goodies to me! Include $4.05 for envelope postage (or stamps if you don't want to send cash) to return your items or $8.10 for the box postage.
F. PM me if you have problems and need to drop out or if an emergency happens (we all know things happen beyond our control sometimes), let me know so we can make arrangements for an angel or other help if needed.

I lost some of my PM's so a few of you may need to resend your addys, sorry! Hopefully I didn't miss anyone.

Got some ideas on paper..but have to finish 4 before I can even start.. Since DH is home from out of town... he offered to take the kids and go do something today so I could scrap! YEA!

I have ideas, I have clipart printed out and am deciding on paper. Need to finish two swaps before this one.

I have some ideas in my head ~ does that count! :teeth:

No pressure on checking in right away! I just wanted to get this started before I forgot. "Fleeting moments of clarity" and all... :rotfl2:

Boy, can I totally relate to "fleeting moments"! :lmao:

I have a few "newbie" questions:

I understand you need to make 2 (or one of each) frames/mats. Also need to pick 2 elements. My question is as follows:

1. Do you make (for example) 2 tags plus one boarder as your "two" elements. Is it 2 tags and say 4 squares?

2. Is this a 2 page layout? For example, since it's good/evil...do you want one page "good" and one page "evil"?

3. what is a side mount?

4. Is a journal box & tag a box that the tag slips in? How is this different to a library box & tag?

I just want to make sure I do what's expected. Everyone has been very nice but I know there might be a few "rules" or things that are prefered. If it's easier for you to PM me, please do. Just trying to please the group...

It's kinda like making sure you have the right dress code for the party...No one wants to show up in pants if everyone is wearing a cocktail dress...right??? OR when Bridget Jones turned up in the bunny outfit for the party where no one else was in costume!!!

Thanks.

Blakely

Any two of the elements listed are 2 more so either of the scenerios you listed would work.

The amount of elements we are doing will be as much as you would need for a 2 page layout. I would say that you could either put both the good and bad on some things or do about half of the elements in each. One mat good, one evil, 2 squares good, two evil, and the border with both for example.

I believe you mean slide mount. It is an element that can slide across a ribbon because it has holes for the ribbon to go through. I haven't ever made one but have seen them in stores. You might be able to look at pictures of old swaps and find one.

A journal box and tag is both of those elements. The tag could slide into the box but doesn't have to do so. A library pocket looks just like the pocket in the back of a library book whereas a journal box can be in many shapes and doesn't have to have a place to slip in the tag.

I understand your questions as do we all, when we began we all had them too. I hope you have a great time in this swap and join us for other too.

Well put!!! :) Great questions and great answers!!! Just coming in to check and glad I read all the way through that way we didn't have an over abundance of answers!

Actually a slide mount is a square piece with a square or round hole in it like a slide for a film projector. You can wrap them in paper and then embellish. Here are the instructions.
1. Glue the front side of the slide mount to the back side of any piece of paper.
2. Starting in each inside corner, cut an "X" from corner to corner in the center of the slide mount, through the paper.
3. On the outside corners of the slide mount, cut a diagonal mitre (almost like dog-earing the paper, but cutting it instead of just folding it)
4. Starting with the inside, fold the paper over to the back of the slide mount and glue them down. You may need to trim any overhang. Fold all the paper flaps over from the outside and glue down.

My understanding of a journal box and tag is 2 separate elements, one is just a tag, and the other is a 3x3 journaling area.
Like this from Yodasmom

that being said rlovew is right too. See everyone has different interpretations of things, I have seen the sliders for the ribbon they are also called slide mounts.
Here are some links of things to look through to get some ideas.
The first is from Disneyland Emily,#13-24 are swaps:

And this is the one of the latest swaps. From PrincessNancy96:

Feel free to ask questions, that's what we are here for. :sunny:

Just checking in. I have to pm you still with my addy. I'm buried deep in swaps right now, so I'll see this one in a month or so. But I'm forming ideas already! :3dglasses

I'll be starting on this after the Labor Day Holiday. I have most of the items I need, just need to sit down and do it.

I completed one element this week-end. :artist:
Created prototypes of 2 others. :cool1:
Have planned 3 others. :thumbsup2
And have not made up my mind what the other 2 will be. :confused3

I was just thinking of this one today and it looks like I never finialized my selections. Sorry about that. I plan to do King Louie vs Baloo for one group and Pinocchio vs Foulfellow for another one.

I'll Pm my address your way too.

Cool beans everyone! No need to rush but if you do finish early feel free to send them on. I've got a spot picked out that will be the kid free zone!

Marlynn, glad to see I'm not the only one to do prototypes. :goodvibes

My DD loves to use the prototypes when I'm done! :)

I finished another element tonight. I'm really happy with how it turned out. :cool1:

okay, I have to say I am loving this swap!!!

My first swaps were the MK lands and rides swaps and doing 12 of the same little thing got to be somewhat boring and/or tedious. Doing 6 of each is a breeze and I enjoy doing multiple related items.... it's like doing a layout.

I only signed up for 2 groups ~ should have done more! I am finished with 5 of my elements, am working on another and have good ideas for the last 2. I'm going to have them done soon and I might have to make extra elements!

If an angel is needed let me know, lol.
