Good "vintage" movie for 10 year old girls?

What about the original Freaky Friday with Jodie Foster? It's one of my FAVE Disney movies, and I watch it all the time!!!!!!

My 10 year olds just saw the old Escape to Witch Mountain and loved it. They want to rent the next installment to see what happens next.

What about the "Pirates of Penzance"? Would they like a musical? Or the original "Sabrina" might be cute for them.

DD (9) loved the "Swiss Family Robinson" and "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang". How about "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory"? She and her friends also like "Milo and Otis"

What about a musical? DD loves watching "Singing in the Rain", "Music Man", "Sound of Music", "Easter Parade", "Meet Me in St. Louis", "My Fair Lady". She and her friends watch them a lot!

Might I also suggest Little House on the Prairie. DD is loving watching the original movie that started the series and has working her way through the series. It's out on DVD and she's has really enjoyed it.

If they want a scary sleepover movie, Disney's "Watcher in the Woods" is a great vintage 70s flick, complete with Bette Davis and spooky mansion in the woods! It was always my fave.

I thought I was the only one!!! They had some vintage WITW posters at MGM when I was there last month -- I wish I could have fit one in my luggage!

I also enjoyed watching Disney's "The Happiest Millionaire" with my family as a kid. Good times.

I was thinking Princess Bride too. I love that movie. I think I 1st saw it when I was 14 (in the theatre when it came out.) Now people won't wacth it with hubby and I because we just can't help ourselves and qoute every line along with them.


Also what about the Anne of Green Galbles, Anne of the Island movie's. The one's with Meghan Follows as Anne. They were by Wonderworks (I think there is some kind of Canada/Disney contection some how.) I loved those, still do. They are out on DVD now too.

Another movie I loved as a pre teen was Lambrith. There was some kind of Jim Henson conections and I think Billy Idiol was in it was the "bad guy". I loved that movie.

Oh this is bringing me back now.

I think DD & I like everything! There are such wonderful suggestions here. I wish they were all out on DVD.
