We are getting to Orlando around 5:00 at the beginning of August.
Our first night will be off site and we will get up early to check in to Royal Pacific the next day so we can get two days of Express Pass. We have 7 day tickets because they were cheaper than getting 2 day tickets so I thought we could go to one of the parks for a little while the evening we get there. I'm looking for suggestions on what would be good things to try.

We would go to a park and have a late dinner at Citywalk, and just relax listening to the group playing there, or why not just relax at the pool, at RPR we would do this as there is always things going on, and if you have kids i am sure they would enjoy it, as you want to get the use of the resort as well for 1 night.

If not Citywalk, then Downtown Disney. Either will get you in the spirit of things. There's also something to be said for relaxing by the pool and saving your energy for the parks the next day.

Remember that Universal charges you to park so if you go at 5:30pm it will be $14 but if you wait until 6 it will be $3. The parks are open until 10pm so if it is your first visit you may want to stroll around and visualize where the things you want to see are located. So if, for instance, your goal is to see WWOHP then you should go to IOA and see exactly how to get there so you don't spend your first day of Express Pass looking at a map trying to figure out where to go. Who knows, it may not be that crowded and you could get to go on a ride or 2 while you're there.

Another thing to remember is that hotel guests get early entry into the parks. Find out what time EE is and plan on getting to the RPR in time to check in, stow your luggage and still be onsite in time for that early opening. So another thing you may want to check out is exactly how to get to RPR from your hotel, again so you don't waste precious time. So if you arrive a bit early and don't want to spend that $14 use your time to find the route to RPR then wait until the rate goes down for the evening.

Most important of all, have a great time.

On your first night, go to the parks after 6pm for the cheaper parking. Go to both of them & walk around. Try to set your plan for the next day by going to see what there is that interests you. The next day when you check into the RPH, get your room key and head over to the parks. You can either take the ferry over or walk. I always walked, it seemed faster unless the ferry was at the doc already. Just remember, even staying at their hotel/resorts, you will be paying parking to them, so do not take your car to the parks parking lot, you will be charged for that parking as well.

:thumbsup2 Great advise!!

Thanks for the advice on parking. I had no idea it would be that much cheaper after 6:00pm. Is there a good guide that I can use for Universal. I'm hoping there will be some updated ones when WWOHP opens.
