Hi all! I just went to www.mousesavers.com LOOK AT THIS!

Canadians will get a new "at par" offer for WDW resort hotels, good for travel October 3 - December 25! You can book it beginning Monday, August 26 - come back tomorrow for details!

Also, I saw that the dollar is 1.55! WOW! It was 1.60 in April!

That's two good things! GOOD THINGS COME IN THREE'S!

I am crossing my fingers for GREAT CDN TICKETS!!!!!!!!

I am sending good thought to the Disney Fairy to let these good things go into next spring! If Em is okay, I think I can talk Gar into a trip! S

I wonder if the at par will be for regular/rack rates? I already have ressies for 55.00 + tax and 119.00 + tax, I wonder what the better deal would be, does anyone know what the rack rates are for november? I can't really see them giving at par on discounted rates - what do you think?
Grover in Winnipeg:D

I'm sure it will be based on Rack Rate...it was for us in July. It was still the best deal for us though. We got the GF for $204/night US (rack rate was $329)...the cheapest rate I'd had before that was $229/night.

Most of November is "Value Season" at moderates Grover so you might be able to get a better rate. Check out the mousesavers page at: http://www.mousesavers.com/roomrates2002.html for all the Rack Rates. Good luck...I hope you can get an even better rate...it's always fun to get something for cheaper.

I'll have to keep my fingers crossed and hope they have a good deal for March. We have our passes so won't need them but I'd love a great rate for the Poly.

This is basically an extension of the previous at par deal. Same rates as before. Example: Rack rate at ASM is $77 per night in US $ - We pay $77 Canadian. This is great!!! Now lets hope for a great ticket deal.

BTW, dates are for check ins 10/03 to 12/25.

the amount was based on rack rates for Value season, multiplied by a CDN exchange rate determined by Disney. so, even if our dollar has gone up, they may not be applying that improved rate to this special.

hope this helps!

p.s. our rate is for a Garden View room

Hello Everyone,

I was sooooooo excited to hear that they extended the at par deal. Today is my 13th wedding anniversary and this has just made my day even better. We are going to WDW in November and then taking a Disney Cruise, so I have been watching these threads to find out any info that would benifit us Canadians. Does anyone know if you can combine the at par deal with your Disney Club discount? Also we don't have our air booked yet, as I have been looking for a sale from Vancouver to Orlando. My TA has said to wait until the beginning of September for any sales to start. I'm wondering if the value priced hotels at WDW will be all full if we wait to long to jump at the at par deal. What does everyone think?

Hey sounds great! Just one question though ... If you're paying by credit card, wouldn't you have the exchange rate added on again? Maybe I'm confusing myself...

Hi Marty Jay

You can't combine the discounts by the way. But a good idea for the resort is to go ahead & book what you're hoping will be your dates & get the At Par discount. Then hopefully, if you have to change anything, you can adjust your reservation later (assuming they have availability). At least you'll have your rate and hopefully some dates to play around with. Good luck.

Disney work the rates backwards bunnyfoo to come up with a rate that makes the Canadian $ "at par" with the US (at the time & exchange rate they calculate it with). But they are actually giving you a specific US rate and depending on the exchange rate charged on the day/credit card etc. your rate may be more or less than you "expect" in Canadian dollars.

For example, when I booked the GF this year, the rate was $226.44 US/nightwhich came to $369.10 Canadian (based on my credit card rate)...an exchange rate of 1.63. By the time we checked in, I paid $350.99 Canadian for the balance (based on my credit card rate)...an exchange rate of 1.55. The "Rack Rate" for the GF for the time we were there was $329 +tax for a total of $365.19 so as you can see, that's "approximately" what we paid (give or take) each time.

So you aren't given a guaranteed rate in Canadian $...just what they decide is the equivalent when the prices are set. Hope this isn't too confusing.

You can't combine discounts, but you can use different codes for the same trip. We booked $99 USF using CDN deal at CSR in April for 4 nights (it was a 4 night minimum) and then booked $94 for 6 nights using a AMEX discount that didn't come into effect until our 4th night at WDW. S

Hello,
I called WDW yesterday about the CAN at par specials. What we had quoted was actually a better price, the Poly 116.55 and AKL 116.55. Oh well, it was worth a try!
I'm hoping for hopper pass specials for the first week of November. I have my fingers crossed.

Wow CountryDuck...those are great rates for the Poly & AK...I don't think you could do much better than that. Wish I could get that rate for the Poly for our trip in March. What code did you use for those?

It was a code for our time period for CBR, but it is going to be closed while we are there so we are offered to upgrade! I was looking forwasr to CBR, but now I have the Poly & AKL to look forward to! It's going to be a surprise for our 6yr DD & 8yr DS.

Those are fabulous rates...you are soooo lucky. I'm sure you'll love both resorts. Enjoy :D

WOW great rate! I thought the $116 rates was using the AT PAR DEAL. Glad you cleared it up with your CBR post. They are two completely different deals. We stayed at CBR in 2001. I had my heart set on CBR. It was magical! In 2002 we stayed at CSR. Not as great as CBR, but still a fab vacation! It's dissapointing not to get the resort you want. So now you have to PLAN AGAIN LOL! That's my fav part! S

We are currently trying to book for Oct 17 - 18 but can't figure out what code Country Duck is talking about? We have called a few times and been quoted both rack rates and Disney club rates. We are not eligible for at par rates as you must stay 4 nights and this trip is an add on surprise for the kids so we can attend the "not so scary halloween party". Do you know the exact code you were using?

TIA,
the Camerons

Thats right, to use this new (extended) Canadian at par deal, you have to stay at least 4 days and no more than 14. I called on Tuesday and had the code applied to my reservation but had to split it in two as we are staying for 16 nights at the ASMu (October). Before this code I was using the AP code and had 16 nights for $1147US including taxes. Now we are paying $1100US including taxes. It wasn't a whole lot more savings but it will buy us another lunch at Teppanyaki or a watermouse rental.
