Now, I'm not one of those parents who worries about not sitting with my kids, they're getting old enough, where they are okay...

BUT, I have to put my foot down somewhere...

I checked our flight schedule for our trip from Boston to Maui in December... Good thing I checked, do you know what they did?

THEY RE-ROUTED MY HUSBAND AND SON!!!!

Yes they did, re-routed them on another plane through another city!!! Turns out the two of them were going to fly from Boston to Dallas to Maui & my daughter and I were set to fly from Boston to Chicago to Maui!!! Apparently our originally scheduled flight had been cancelled & this was their way of fixing their problem...

Meanwhile, they did put us on the same plane on the same day :confused3 Who'd have known???

I would have been so mad! I have to take Xanax to fly so
drugged woman +kids= bad mommy! My DH has to be there. I faint prior to getting on the plane if undrugged for a flight BTW!

We weren't on the same reservation as each of us was using frequent flyer miles, but we were supposedly linked in the system or something... I just could not believe it! We've flown plenty on miles and never has this ever happened. Can you imagine if I hadn't called & the flights my DH & son were on was booked? Afterall, there is only one flight from Dallas to Maui per day!

Microcell, I don't think the flight attendants would want to be responsible for you!!! I'm in a wheelchair as it is, and they would have had a much heavier workload if DH & I weren't on the same flight!

I know what you mean...

This past Feb. we were booked on American from Boston to St.Lucia with a plane change in Miami. My husband is an air traffic controller at BOston and noticed a couple of weeks before we left that our flight was consistently leaving :10 min later than as we had booked. I looked up the flight and noticed they changed the time by :10min, but our seats were showing as "available"... Well when we looked into it further our original flight was changed, but the computer automatically reassigned everyone on that flight.
Some stayed on that flight..however.... they reassigned us to a flight that left the night before and got into Miami at 6pm the previous day with a 16hr layover..???? Luckily, we found out about it and they put us on the flight that left :10min later..

isn't it amazing.....imagine showing up for your flight only to find out that they reassigned you without notification to leave a day earlier? with a 16hr layover?

Uh, Justplaingoofy, yeh... that's exactly what everybody who doesn't check their flights SHOULD worry about.... Isn't that awful?

Airlines are notorious for this sort of thing, but this is certainly the worst change they've made on us!

I have had my flight changed also...

This was before you could check your flights online and had to call 48 hours ahead to verify the flight. I had booked round trip air through a travel agent for a 6pm flight. When I called to verify I found out that the flight had been changed to 4:30 or something. This was also way back when you could get away with showing up at the airport less than an hour before a flight and not have to worry. What bothered me about the whole thing was that I was not notified by anybody that the flight had changed... TA or airline.

Too bad your travel agent did not check on that! I am a travel agent and if I am booking someones air I check reguarly. not only for flight changes but also if the rate went down to get the client a credit.

In my previous post I mentioned my husband had noticed the flight change (works at the airport) and told me about it. I do check our flights weekly-biweekly..
glad you did not miss your flight :wizard:
