Does anyone know of a good tattoo parlor in Orlando or the nearby area? my wife and I are going to get Jack and Sally tattoos when we're at Disneyworld in December. Thanks!

What I would do, is do a Google search for, say, "Tattoo Parlors, Orlando" or something of the sort. Then check out the ones who have websites, so you can see their work.

I've been looking for "the" tattoo artist that has a style I like, and I've found a couple, only they are not local! :(

Oh, I found this link:

Maybe you could call some of them and see if they have a website with portfolios on them!

Good luck!

CyberFerret, I'm curious why you want to get a tattoo while on vacation?
I recently had one done and it was a bit sore. I wouldn't want that while on vaca. You also can't have it exposed to the sun or be in the water for long periods of time. Both of which I would think you would be doing in Orlando.
I would sugest you get it done around where you live so you can find out more about the place you get it done at. Things like how clean they are and how good their work is.

That is a very good suggestion! Getting a tat is getting an injury to your skin, and who wants to hurt on vacation! Good observation!

Hello CyberFerret - I, too, question why you would want to get a tattoo on your vacation. It hurts first of all, and they, depending on the parlor, they cover it in plastic wrap or gauze which would be uncomfortable if you plan on going to the parks. You cannot submerge them in water - so no swimming or jacuzzis. You'll have to stop periodically to apply ointment to them. May I also add, it hurts up to a week after you get a tattoo - like a bad sunburn.
I don't know where you're from, but I'm from Minnesota - that's where I got my tattoo (live in FL now) and my tattoo (of Mickey Mouse) cost $65. I have checked several tattoo parlors here in Orlando and they are VERY VERY expensive. They wanted over $65 just to touch up the one I already have, and would charge $185 for a similar tattoo. In my opinion - get it done locally. It will probably be cheaper, and you will find most places will do free touch ups in the future. May I suggest getting it done 3 weeks before you leave for vacation so you can show it off - just make sure to put sunscreen on it.

I say gof or it while your on vacatioon, it is not going to kill you or keep you down for days at a time sore 1 2 days max, no big deal have fun and enjoy just make sure you go to a safe reputable place

I found a good place in the Old Town shopping centre close to Kissimmee on the US 192 - it's called the Old Town Tattoo parlour.

I didn't actually have a tat done - to my surprise, I found the prices to be somewhat higher than back here in th UK - but the place was very clean, very well presented and the staff could not have been more helpful.

I went in to get some help putting back my nose stud which I'd taken out to see how difficult it would be to put back - very difficult as it turned out ! Anyway, the piercings guy went to work, and it took a while to get the stud back in because of it's shape, but he didn't charge me a penny, which I thought was very good of him. If they take a similar amount of care over the inking...

I also visited a couple of places on I-Drive that looked pretty decent, but I can't vouch for the service.

Theres a good one (from first hand experience) on I drive opposite Cool Waves shop. Very close to Chillis.

The man who owns this has been a tattoist for many many years.

I had some good piercing here also.

Friends of mine have always said good things about Devotion. Havent' been here, but it was tops in Orlando Weekly's Best of Orlando poll.

From the Weekly:
BEST TATTOO/PIERCING PARLOR
Devotion Tattoo Studio
1010 N. Mills Ave., (407) 894-7888
These are always scary places for the squeamish, yet Devotion remains one of the more respected houses of pain in the area, championed by goths and their bullies alike. It's not one of those downtown windowed joints, either, so the embarrassment factor is slightly diminished. And they've got a piercing wing, too, where you can pierce your wing.

Reader's poll: Devotion Tattoo Studio
