Good stopping spot close to FL border?

we normally stop someplace near Savannah for the night. This time I would like to get a bit further. Any suggestions? Closer to the Florida border as our first stop in Florida is Fort Myers.

If you can make it about an hour past the border, we love exit 335, Old St Augustine Road. It is just south of the mess in Jacksonville. That way, you don't have to worry about Jacksonville traffic the next morning. But this is at least 2.5-3 hours past Savannah. Just an hour past the border doesn't sound too bad until you are already pushing it 3 hours past your normal stopping point.

Well I think we are turning this into a 3 day trip down now. Thank you for the suggestions!

I'm off for the summer so I thought why not leave a day earlier and take our time.
