Hello! I made my first ressie for our first trip home yesterday. I only told them at the time that we wanted a 1-BR N/S. But, what are your expereicnes with rooms? We may end up going to a 2-BR, but for now, just 1 BR info would be great! Any room number ideas or places? It will be Dh and me, maybe DS (3 at that time), but hopefully just the 2 of us. We would like a nice view and can sleep through firework noise, if need be. We'd love to be able to watch the fireworks form our room if that's possible. Also, when should I request this stuff and how? Do I wait until check-in or call MS now? Thanks in advnce- you are all such wonderful help!! P.S. If you need this info- we are going 9/3-9/9/05- the week after Labor Day.

If you want a Downtown Disney View, then simply as them to add "Downtown Disney View" request to your reservation. We were in room 2221 a month ago. That room was a second floor dedicted 2B in one of the buildings that flanks the quiet pool.

Technically our room was listed as a "Pool View" on the maps at the front desk. But the CM that checked us in explained that it received this designation simply because the pool sits between us and Downtown Disney. She showed us a map and the location looked great. Sure enough, we had front row seats for the fireworks every night. I was up past midnight every night, but DW and the kids were always sleeping and reported no disturbances from the fireworks. With the door closed, I didn't he much more than faint popping sounds.

Over the week I saw a lot of folks sitting on their balconies watching the fireworks. But be sure to temper your expectations--the "show" is over in less than 30 seconds. It really is a nice display, but very short.

Do not wait until check-in to add your requests. Do it at least a week before arrival.

I really liked 2435, a dedicated 2BR with a "partial" DTD view. I thought the view was great (there could be better, but this was awesome IMHO), and you could see the fireworks from the balcony. LOVED IT!

We stayed at SSR in November. We requested a room with a view of DTD, thinking we'd see the fireworks. Turned out to be the wrong request. Our room did face DTD but it faced away from the fireworks.

OK...no problem... so we thought we'd go over to the viewing area so that we could sit outside and see them from the rocking chairs in front of the pool and fountain. Nice idea? uhhuh! We ran there at 11:55pm to get there in time, hoping we weren't too late to get a good seat. As we rounded the corner of SSR, we were shocked that we were the only two nuts out this late at night to see the show. Then we found out why!! The fireworks were pretty lame and over in a blink of an eye. You couldn't even really call them fireworks!

Maybe they're better at other times of the year...don't know!! But, at least we had a really good laugh...and we did get our choice of rocking chairs!! :D

Bottom line...if you want a view of the fireworks...ask for a fireworks view. If you just want to see DTD, then ask for that view.
