Good Seats At Fantasmic W/o Dinner Package?

Can you get good seats at Fantasmic w/o the dinner package?

As far as I know, the dinner package only has a section of seats off to the far right, so yes, there are good seats available without the dinner package. You may have to get there earlier than you'd like (1-2hrs before) but you can get them. The dinner package just secures you a seat, not the best ones. Having said that, there are no bad seats for Fantasmic.
BTW, you might not want to sit in the first few rows as the spray off the water screens can leave you a little wet!

I think the seats you get without the dinner package are better than those with the dinner package. We did the dinner package once...just to have the reserved seating. We were very unhappy with them.

The seats with the dinner package is to the right. We had a good view as we were in the center right. Depending on when you are going, you may not need a dinner package. The cheapest dinner package was ok food. Oh if you do get a dinner package and you see someone order a drink and they have the light up ice cubes, ask how much or you will get a bill for 4.00 a cube when you can get 4 for 1.00 at Target.

The bigger question you should be asking is "what do you have to do to get good seats if you don't do the dinner package?" As the others have said, the dinner package seats aren't the best (although there really aren't any terrible seats in the complex) but they do have the advantage of being reserved for you such that you only have to show up 20-30 minutes ahead of time. The amount of time you have to wait to get a good seat will depend upon when you go. During the busier times, people report waiting 1-2 hours to get a good seat. Of course, during the busiest times of the year there are usually two showings of Fantasmic and the second showing is always much less crowded.

I agree with everyone else. The dinner package gets you the worst seats - all the way to one side. They're not bad, just not as good as the rest.

When we were there early November, we arrived about 90 minutes early and sat dead center on the aisle. It was about 30 minutes before showtime before everything else was really getting filled up. But we bought hot dogs at the concession stand and packed some snacks so we didn't mind waiting at all. And the family one row in front of us brought a portable DVD player so we got to peek over their shoulders and watch a movie. We also spoke with the folks seated around us which was nice.

You can get good seats without the package, especially if you go during a slower time of the year.

Both times we have seen it we did not have the dinner package, and both times were peak.

At Christmas 2002 we did wait almost 2 hours, but we didn't mind. Our boys were tired, so we went in and sat down. Got dinner and waited. The time actually went by really quick.

Last spring during spring break we debated about the early show or the late show. We went to the early show after dinner at Pizza Planet. We went maybe about an hour early. Got good seats again. After that show got out we were amazed at the long line for the second show that had already formed. It was all the way out to the hat! So I am not sure how many people that is, but I know I wouldn't have wanted to be standing out by the hat waiting to get in.

I wouldn't worry about the dinner package unless there was someplace you really wanted to eat.

We usually wait about an hour for good seats when we go. What we do it get some dinner-like snacks at the stands after we get our seats at Fantasmic. That way we have a less expensive dinner and better more central seats. I don't mind this process. We wait for over an hour for parades most of the time, so Fantasmic waiting is no different for us.

What we do is make a late PS for lunch, usually at 50's Prime Time- I think the latest lunch seating is 3:45. Finish up that around 5 pm or so, and head over to Fantasmic. DH rides RnR over and over and over until they open the arena, then we head in and get a seat. We usually get get seats dead center.
