Good Restaurants for almost 5 year old boy???? Suggestions PLEASE!

I'm trying to help a friend of mine book her 1st WDW vacation. She has an almost 5 year old little boy, and I have 2 little girls so I know nothing about little boys. lol Please give me your suggestions for some table service restaurants that would be good for their family! Thank you

If they are looking for characters I would suggest CM, CP, Tusker House, H&V, or Ohana for Breakfast. CP, H&V for lunch or CP, GG for dinner. Other than that I would suggest buffets if he is a picky eater or a hearty eater (they don't have to eat what they don't like and they can usually find something they like - even fruit).

If he likes the animals do RF for fun. Does he like sports do ESPN.

TRex in DD although it does get very dark and loud. If he has ever been in a RFC and did not like it, then he definetly will not like TRex.

My son is 8 now but, on our last trip he was 6 and he loves Whispering Canyon Cafe, Chef Mickeys and O'Hanas. He also like Rainforest Cafe.

We are planning a surprise trip in Feb and we booked T-Rex, I think he will love it!

Don't forget to see the Power Rangers at DHS, they make scheduled appearances over by Lights Motor Action. My son always loved meeting them, having his pic taken (the always strike a Power Ranger pose) and having them sign autographs.

Sci FI at DHS
Mama Melroses at DHS
Le Cellier at Epcot
Les Chef de France (Remy visits the tables here)
Whispering Canyon Cafe - for breakfast (at Wilderness Lodge)

A close second was Coral Reef, but have taken him there before so we wanted to try a couple new ones.

I do not think TREX accepts DDP. I have a little girl but we just finished a vacation with friends who had two boys 3 and 6. They enjoyed Tusker House Breakfast, Chef Mickey, Sci Fi (the food is awful but the atmosphere is cool -- I recommend lunch or just go for dessert), Mickey's Backyard B-bque. They thought Whispering Canyon was not impressive not worth the ride over via the ferry and the time out of the parks. They thought it was funny-- just not worth it in the long run. They also were disappointed by Ohana. I know both of these are very popular but based on the feedback of the boys, we wouldn't book again with boys this age. Good luck!! I'm much better at girly reservations too....

Our boys love Whispering Canyon Cafe, 'Ohana and Chef Mickey for the crazy activities that go on during the meal. Crystal Palace is another favorite for the characters.

Teppan Edo gets ratings almost as high as Le Cellier, and is a good deal more interesting for a preschooler (the chef does a funny routine while he cooks at your table). The kids menu includes a tempura selection that is just like chicken nuggets.

We hated the Sci-Fi Dine In, by the way. Bad food and our kids were too distracted to eat!

DGS turned 5 in May. We were there the week of his birthday in May. He really enjoys Crystal Palace at MK, Sci-Fi and H&V at DHS, Garden Grill and Coral Reef at Epcot, and we have not done any TS meals at AK. If you have your own transportation, I have found that the best breakfast buffet is Boma. Some of the food is spicy so just be sure to look at what the sign says it is before you take it. And DGS also asks to eat at Chef Mickey's every trip as well. They have a very good breakfast buffet with PB&J pizza that the kids and my DH absolutely love. They have more choices than any of the other breakfast buffets that are offered. Also, Pizza Planet at DHS is a must for DGS as far as CS meals go. I know Sci-Fi gets a bad wrap about it's food but just stick with burger, fries and milk shake or cherry coke and you will enjoy that location and be pretty full and satisfied.

my son is 6 and he loves the Coral Reef at Epcot we went twice food is good not just seafood.

My son was 5 when we went and he loved and still talks about Sci Fi Cafe (lunch). Crystal Palace was a big hit and we enjoyed it as well. If he likes to eat out, I also recommend Brown Derby - we had a great time there and he loved getting different courses.

and they Must do the Crystal Palace!

they also liked 50s prime time and eating at the castle!

My boys have always loved Donald's Breakfast @ Tusker House. We've never been to T-Rex but my guess is any boy around that age would like it.

We liked Sci Fi's food. We did burgers, fries, and shakes. Sitting in the cars was fun too.

HI!

Do you know if you can still order the burger at SCI FI for dinner? Although it was never on the dinner menu we use to be able to order it.

Also, do you think it defeats the purpose of bringing a 5 year old boy to 50s Prime time if he doesnt speak English? I think that the atmosphere would still be fun and obviously I would translate for him.
