Hi Everyone,

On our next trip, my son will spend an evening in the Cub's Den in WL and my hubby and I will probably go to dinner. My hubby loves steak so I wanted to get some recommendations. I know Le Cellier Steakhouse is loved by many but im hoping to save a few bucks and eat an appetizer as my meal. I do not like steak ( yes I know how could someone not like steak :) ) so the appetizer and shared dessert would be all I eat. I don't like any of the entrees listed for Le Cellier. (not a seafood person either :) I know how can I be from New Orleans and not like seafood :) ). So can yall give me suggestions for other Disney restaurants that my hubby can get a good Steak.

Thanks
Jamie

The only other recommendatons i have seen were Yachtman Steakhouse over at the Yacht Club or I think it was Concourse Steakhouse at the CR. I habe not heard anything about Shula's over at the Dolphin. I do not like steak either (see you are not alone!) but I did see quite a few things I would enjoy on LeCellier's menu so we are going to give it a try when it comes around in a couple of weeks!

Definitely Yachtsman Steakhouse. DH and I both had steaks there and they were excellent.

Hi Jamie. I'm a little confused. (It happens easily :p ) What kind of voucher do you have? Of course there are "wishes" with dining plans and then there are Quick and Casual vouchers and VKL vouchers but the VKL are only good for lunch except for at RainForest Cafe at AK but they close pretty early. You could use a Q&C at Pepper Market at Coronado Springs and they do serve steak but it is a food court and since you are leaving your little one at Cub's Den I assume you wanted somepleace nicer than that. The steaks are good at Le Cellier, Jiko, the Yachtsman Steakhouse, Shula's, and some say at Flying Fish but all are pricey. All but Shula's take "wishes" but not vouchers.

I was very pleased with the steak I had at Concourse Steakhouse in the Contemporary.

I wasn't terribly pleased with the fact that it took 42 minutes for the steak to come from the kitchen. But the folks seated at the next table got theirs much quicker, so I don't think 42 minutes is the average time for an order.

Here's the menu:

Concourse is also the closest steak house to WL; simply take a resort launch (boat) from WL dock direct to Contemporary. How convenient is that! And the views from the launch are terrific.

Ack you are right the vouchers are for lunch only. It's been a while since I have looked at them and forgot they are lunch only. No biggie. I still would try to go cheeper and eat an appetizer. I was looking at Le Cellier again and wonder how Chedder cheese soup and cream cheese mashed potatos would be for a meal :)

Keep the suggestions coming. I'll be checking out those menus :)

Take care
Jamie

Not only is the cheddar cheese soup good but the complimentary breadsticks that they being out are wonderful. Especially the pretzel bread ones. You could make a meal out of those and the soup alone! I really think Le Cellier would be the most economical choice of the "good" steak places since many of them charge seperately for potatoes, sides, etc. Hope this helps!

One weekend DH had a steak at Kona Cafe. He loved it.
The next evening he ate one at Brown Derby. It was okay.

Your hubby will love you forever if you take him to Shula's for a steak. They are very, very good; on par with a Morton's or Ruth's Chris. It's at the Dolphin and they provide FREE yes FREE childcare for 2 hours if you dine at their restaurants.

The best steak in the system is at Shulas for sure but Le Cellier would be a excellent choice as well as the Hollywood Brown Derby. The BD has some hearty salad selections that might accomodate you better.

We  Yachtsman Steakhouse. Having had steak at Le Cellier, Narcoosees and Yachtsman Steakhouse, I can confidently say that Yachtsman comes out on top. Can't wait to return!

I don't think you can go wrong with Shulas. It is pricey but worth it. You can share a side as they are huge!
