Hey guys,
I have a few questions about a new camera i bought and was wondering if you guys could help!!!!!

I was wondering what a good resoultion would be to take a picture in ? Such as 640x480 or 2816x2112

And what is the difference between and A3 or A4 print?

Use the 2816x2112 or a larger one if available. The larger the number, the more information that you are capturing. That also means you can print out larger.

A3 and A4 are paper sizes similar to 8 1/2 x 11 that we use in the states. I think that A3 is the one that is closest to our size paper, but it is slightly bigger. Not sure on the other sizing.

To me when I am taking the pics, the biggest setting is always the best, as you can always edit down, but you can not edit in more information. With the size and price of memory cards, you can go big and still get ton's of photos, When I was shooting film, a weeks worth of vacation would be 4-10 rolls... I now shoot that many pics a day....

The A4 paper is the one closest to 8 1/2 X 11, it's a little narrower and a little longer, if you're looking at the paper like a letter. A3 is more like 11 X 17.

And yes, generally the higher the numbers in your resolution, the better. At highest settings you could crop more from your image and still come out with a sizeable print.

rule of thumb:

don't be stingy with memory. Use the largest file size allowed by your camera. You can diminish the size later but you can't expand the file size later.
