Good resort bars?

I'm going to be at WDW in a few weeks and I'm looking for a good resort bar to visit after leaving Epcot after Illuminations. I'm a night-owl so heading to bed after 9pm fireworks is too early for me! Ideally somewhere with a good theme, a unique cocktail or perhaps some entertainment as I'll be by myself. I'd rather keep to the resorts than go to DTD. I'd love to visit a resort that is interesting to look around too, so I was thinking perhaps Poly or Grand Floridian. Any advice?

The bars at Poly and Wilderness lodge area nice I sat and watched a ball games at each a few years ago. Night time at the Boardwalk can be fun too.

The signature drink in the Polynesian's Tambu Lounge is the Lapu Lapu, served in a real pineapple! You may may also want to head to Disney's Boardwalk area. Walk out Epcot's International Gateway exit, and take a boat or walk to Belle Vue Lounge in the Boardwalk Resort. It's relaxing and very well themed in the 1930s & 40s. The signature drink there is The Shadow. It's a relaxing lounge, with many details to be discovered.

Bluezoo at the Dolphin has some unique drinks. You can also eat at the bar if you wish.

IL Mulino has "live" entertainment. The bar area has a separate lounge from the restaurant which I've always enjoyed.

WL is my favorite; I go out of my way each year to go there.

The Wave at CR is also very cool.

Outside the resorts, Raglan Road at DTD has a fantastic bar; very large, with entertainment.

Mizner's Lounge is right by the Grand Floridian Society Orchestra. The have a lot of fancy cocktails and you get free mixed nuts.

The Tambu Lounge is great. When it's not packed, it's a really relaxing place.

If you are *really* into cocktails and visit the Tambu, ask if Walter is tending bar. He's a well-regarded and very knowledgeable mixologist and a great bartender.

DH and I always make a trip to the French Quarter to have a drink at the Scat Cat Club and listen to Elliot Dyson play the blues. He also does a lot of oldies and some country too. A very nice way to end the day. His set starts around 9 and goes till midnight Wednesday through Saturday.

My favorites are always Martha's Vineyard (BC), Tambu Lounge (Poly) and Mizner's (GF). All are quiet, relaxed spots, though. If you're looking for something more upbeat, Jellyrolls or ESPN on the Boardwalk are your best bets.

I think Tambu is fun but I prefer bluezoo. bluezoo has the best drink menu as they go way outside the box there (my favorite is the serenity martini) and the lounge is very adult and visually stunning.

We used to enjoy Tambu until they rearranged the seating area to accommodate 'Ohana guests waiting to be seated; this seems to have made it way more chaotic than when we first went. Next time, unless it was a quiet evening, I'd probably opt for my Lapu Lapu to go and sit out on the beach. Ah, Lapuuuu Lapuuuuu.

Current favorites are the Wave (Contemporary), Sanaa (Animal Kingdom Villas), Jiko (Animal Kingdom Lodge), Flying Fish (Boardwalk), Bluezoo (Dolphin), Il Mulino (Swan), Flying Fish (Boardwalk), Territory Lounge (Wilderness Lodge). I also like the California Grill's bar/lounge but it is closed right now.

Tambu is not a quiet or relaxed spot, it's too close to 'Ohana for that. It's great for atmosphere and people watching but not for a quiet drink.

True. The number of people waiting of 'Ohana often makes getting a seat at Tambu Lounge impossible.

Best spectator sport in Orlando used to be getting a barstool at Tambu and watching the guests come up to check in for 'Ohana. Just to see how they reacted when they saw the line to check in or when they got to the front of it and learned there would be a 2 hour wait if they didn't have a reservation. Unfortunately they have since moved the check-in podium to the other side of the room.
