I just got a quote from DU for 10 days/nights at All Star Sports for 3 of us (and one two year old) with parkhopper and plus passes for $2008. Does that sound like a good deal? Do you think I could do better without booking as a package?

I just booked the Poly for 9 nights for myself, DH, DD (3 years old), and DS (6 months old) with the MYW passes for 7 days and the park hopper option for $2600.00. I didn't have any discount codes that I knew of but when I called to book I asked the CM if I by any chance had and discount codes attached to my name/address and so she took my information and said yes as a matter of fact we recently sent you a postcard with a discount code, I told her I never received the postcard and she said doesn't matter if we send you one it is in our computer system. So I would suggest that you ask them to check your name/address in their system you may be able to do a lot better than the All Stars for $2000. Good Luck.

Remember it doesn't hurt to ask and if you don't ask they probably won't tell.

Thank you Tina! I'll definitely do that and cross my fingers. It would be worth an extra $600 to stay at the Poly! (though I don't know if dh would go for it). We were originally going in October and were going to stay at CRS, but since we had to move the trip up, decided to go with a value resort. You've got me all excited now! I hope my luck is as good as your's!

Rack for the room at All Stars is 85 a night during that time. If you're spending more than 8 days in the park, Annual Passes might make more sense( and might get you a discount, too). If you're not going to use the water parks/pleasure island, you don't need the premium passes.

www.mousesavers.com for any codes that might apply for you. DU's price is comparable to what www.waltdisneyworld.com will quote you.

If you'd rather let someone else do all the work of booking, then this is probably be a good deal. Personally, I prefer the thrill of doing all the booking and planning myself. That said, I'd get two trips in a year and wouldn't spend that much. There's codes to be had and deals to be found!

Rack rate for a standard view at a value during regular season is $99/night plus tax (11.5%-13%, depending on whether it is POP or an AllStar). I'm not sure where Poohnatic got the $85/night from but no value resort rate rate ends in a "5". So, for 10 nights at ASSp, you're looking at $1118.70 right there.

Disney no longer sell the Park Hopper Passes, they sell Magic Your Way passes instead and they're a little different. Chances are good that your TA quote includes 10-day MYW Premium passes. For 2 adults and 1 child, the Disney advance-sale price would be $843.49 for the passes that expire within 14 days of their first use.

By booking those two features by yourself, the cost would be $1962.19. The difference between the DU quote and booking it yourself may be the cost of trip insurance?

I don't think that it's a great price but if you do not qualify for any other discount (FL resident, AP Holder or AAA), then it's probably the best that you can get.

I would not recommend getting an AP unless you can definitely get a room discount. The AP discount for May is $25 off the rack rate but there were not too many rooms made available, so even with an AP, you might not be able to get a discounted room. The new break-even point for buying an AP (vs. buying MYW passes) is 13 park visits.

Yes, sorry. I'm lost in the old lingo. That would be three MYW premium tickets. We do plan on visiting at least one water park and Disney Quest. We'd probably only park hop two or three days, but I guess you can't split up the tickets like that.

Hmmm...maybe I should try to book the rooms and tickets separately. I also have AAA. That may help a little? I really don't think there is much chance of us returning within the year, so AP passes are probably not the way to go, especially since the rooms are probably gone by now.

I am definitely going to research my options, but I have to book quickly. If a discount rate comes out, I can apply it after I book, can't I?

Yes you can apply a discount code after you have booked. Usually they will book a new reservation for you with the discount and then cancel your previous undiscounted reservation. At least if you book at rack rate then you know you will have a place to stay with or with out discounts, then if the discount comes out just give a call and rebook at the lower rate.
