Good place to stop a couple of hours north?

We are scheduled to check out of POP next week and are heading up I95 to visit family in Maryland. We had originally planned to stay an extra night and leave first thing in the morning and drive straight through. Now, we are going to check out and hang around Disney either swimming or shopping or going to Legoland or something during the day and then hitting the road in the afternoon or evening. Does anyone have any suggestions for a place to stay that night? Since we have no strict plans, we are flexible as to how far north it is - we could drive two hours or five. Thanks!

I grew up in Pennsylvania and we used to drive all the way down and stay in North Carolina. I think that's probably a good place to stop as you will be just about half way. :)

If you don't want to go as far as NC, we found that Richmond Hill, GA (north GA, exit 87) was a decent place to stop.

Last time we drove we left in the late morning and after a stop in Daytona, drove to Savannah. It was about 4+ hours not including our time in Daytona. If you want to go further north Walterboro, SC was our stop on the way down to WDW from the NJ suburbs of Philadelphia.

We live in NC and ALWAYS stop in Savannah, GA on the way home from Disney. The historic district is beautiful, so is the river front, and here are lots of great places to eat.
