Good Place To Meet Other Disers At The Port

For our upcoming cruise there are many of us Disers that would like to meet at the port - many are first timers and I haven't been on DCL since 1998 so I am not sure how much has changed since then.

So I am asking all you DCL veterans - where is a good PLACE to meet in the port? Most of us are planning to be there when it opens so I think we will have plenty of time before boarding the ship.

Thanks for your help.

Inside the terminal is a pretty open area. If you could just meet in front of the model of the ship, everyone should see each other :)

Around the model of the ship is a good area. Make sure people are wearing the lime green ribbons so you can recognize each other.

OK, I must have missed the post. Lime green ribbons? Is this the international DCL forum colors? Just need to be filled in so I know what I'm doing on 11/3.

Lime green ribbons are the 'univeral' sign of DIS members. It just helps DISers recognize each other. Wear them when you go on the cruise or to WDW.

Around the model does get a little crowded but if you somehow identify yourself it will help others find you or your group.

I'm not sure I would suggest right around the model. A lot of people (us included) were taking pictures there when we went on the Wonder. I can't make any other suggestions, though, because we weren't in the terminal long enough to look around much.

I think in the front of the terminal, by the window where you can see the ship is nice. There are a lot of people looking at the model and taking pictures. There is a 'snack bar' in the front too (it isn't free, like on the ship). There are couches there too and it is a nice area.

A good (and not usually crowded) area is the outdoor platform area that looks out on the ship. The doors to get to it are near the embarkation gangway area. I don't think a lot of people even realize that you can go out there because it is rarely crowded...usually just a few people looking at the ship and/or smoking (since the inside is a non-smoking area).

That seating area is where Miss Vivian and I were waiting when all of the Dis members came by. We probably met 8 or 10 there before getting in line before our last cruise.
