Good or bad deal

If it is a good one for you, I’d say it’s not bad, It might be a little high but with only 50 points, and banked ones, it’s not that much more,

I bought BLT for $150 recently which I thought was on the higher end, but it came with so many extra points, it wasn’t worth letting it go for the extra $1k. It was the right size and UY I wanted,

Small contracts don’t come along very often, even at SSR.

Seems a little high to me; if you back out 2019 and 2020 dues you get around $113.50 a point - which still seems high to me. If you look at the ROFR thread and even if you assume the buyer paid 2020 dues you're still paying a bit more than the sub-100 point offers.

Also keep in mind it'll likely not close until December at this point - are you going to have enough time to used the 2019 points?

I'd say double points with the seller paying dues, $115 is a "deal". But I also don't see a lot of 50 point contracts available right now.

It’s not a steal, but if you are looking for just a 50 point add on and it fits your use year I would not get super caught up on the price. If you save $10 a point it’s only a real savings of $500. Not enough to worry about IMO if this contract has everything you are looking for.

What bad is to me could very well be good for you. To me,,seller is dreamin lol.
$117 good. $107 range great. But if that points contract is giving you the scent of a churro cart..take the bite!

If it were me I’d wait but it depends on if you will use the points in time. Plus paying 2021 dues when you close since you probably won’t close before the statement generates.

Assuming you're buying because you like SSR and want to stay there, if seller pays dues I think $120 is the most you should pay. Small contracts are hard to come by though even at SSR so you need to decide whether it's worth it to you.

If you're buying for Sleep Around Points, I'd say $112 is the most you should pay. At $120 it's harder to justify SSR for Sleep Around Points.

The tricky thing with those small contracts is that sometimes they are priced so much higher than larger contracts that the difference between resale and direct becomes a consideration. For about $2K more, you could make that purchase direct, get your points immediately and be halfway to getting blue card benefits. Not sure if those matter to you or not.

IMO if the contract fits you then you should buy it.

at $127 you are at $6,350
at $117 you are at $5,850

IMO it’s NOT worth the hassle over $500 if the contract otherwise suits you. It’s even less worth the hassle if you look over the life span of the contract.

as with everything in life you need to know when to pick your fights.

I personally wouldn’t pay more than $100/ point for SSR, even for a small contract.
You will probably never find one with 50 or fewer for less than $100, even stripped, even when 150 point contracts are selling for $90.

is it a great deal? I don’t think it’s a great deal, but it is a good one. The price difference between good and great on small contracts is not a lot of money. 200+ point contracts makes a bigger difference. Great would be around $120, but banked points is a big plus. Is this a add on contract for you or first contract? For a 50 point contract, they are hard to come buy and are bought quickly. For $350 I wouldn’t pass on it if the contract fits your needs.
