I got a good tip from the Budget Board about JT's Sports Bar and Family Restaurant, which is aparantly right on 192 and really tasty.

What other close-to-Disney but off-site restaurants would you recommend? We're staying at a condo in Windsor Palms.

I'm thinking that if it's cheaper, or at least comporable to the $30 we'd spend on CS if we ate in the parks, we can potentially eat somewhere off-site after our afternoon break but before we head into the parks. Or we place a to-go order and one of us brings it back to the condo while the girls are still swimming/resting, and eat before heading back.

We're pretty open to most types of food, so we're open to whatever! Worst comes to worst, we can get drive-thru food for the girls if they won't eat what we want to eat. :thumbsup2

We like Cracker Barrel. The food is always good and the prices are reasonable. Ponderosa can be a good deal-all meals come with an all-you-can-eat buffet. Eat the buffet, take the meal home for leftovers! I haven't been to CiCi's pizza, but it's an all-you-care-to-eat pizza buffet, and there are several in the area. It's $5 a person. We plan on trying one when we go in August.

The pizza buffet sounds interesting! Even if it's so-so pizza, it's still all you can eat.

The ale house menu looks good too. Thanks!

Hi...
Two years we decided to try JT's...We gave it D at best...

For some reason during our 3 month stay last year we decided to try it again as they said "BEST RIBS IN TOWN." AS we got out the car two families were coming out and said, "The food and service were horrible. We left the food on the table and we are outa here." That was our last trip to JT's. We got in the car and went elsewhere.....if other opposite experiences, please let damoede know.

Two of our favorites are Beef O'Brady's and THE PUB. Both kid friendly and good food...BO'Brady's is good burgers, super cheesburger wrap, and my favorite, excellent grilled grouper sandwich. It is "family sports bar" so lots of TVs. Take 192 west about 3 miles from Disney and look for Vista Del Lago home park on the right...BOBrady's is in a strip mall just before entrance to VDLago...take the VDLago turn and then turn into parking lot for the mall.

The PUB is a great British Pub with super Fish and Chips and Shepherd's Pie ( one Shepherd's Pie is enough for two). They also have great American fare and some great beers on tap as does BObrady's.

From Windsor Palm it is an easy drive using the new 429 Interstate...exit WP and turn right. Mystic Dunes golf will be on your left and the interstate on your right. You will come to stop sign...go straight a little way until you come to a second stop light...turn right and then left onto the Interstate... you will need 25 cents for the short trip to I-4. I-4 exit will be a mile or so...take I-4 west toward Tampa a very short way to Highway 27 south...take 27 south about a mile an look for the Pub on the right...lots of green!!
Sound a little complex but very easy after the first time...to get home take take 27 north to I-4 EAST....I-4 a short drive to I-429 North.... Take first exit off 429 at SINCLAIR ROAD....go STRAIGHT ACROSS THIS TIME at the stop light OFF THE EXIT and you will be back on Sand Hill Road which takes you right back to WP...I work at Mystic Dunes golf in the winter and live in Indian Ridge just south of WP...this is a great way to get to I-4 for stuff on highway 27 or Tampa.

enjoy...Ted
