Good Non-Fiction Book for DD13

DD was given a reading assignment. We need to pick out a book that is a minimum of 200 pages and it has to be non-fiction. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Why don't you try a biography? Or a historical book she would enjoy.

How about A Child Called It by Dave Pelzer? It's a really good book, and it's an eye opener.

I can't remember if it has 200 pages, I read it in 10th grade for school. Anyway, Night by Eli Wiesel is a fantastic book and a pretty quick read. It is about the holocaust and it's by a survivor of it, but I think it is appropriate for a 13 year old.

I don't think that Night is that long, the copy I have isn't that long anyway.

Yea, I was really thinking that if it was 200 pages that was the maximum length. It's not a long book at all. Still a great book though and I'd recommend to anyone to read it!

The Cage by Ruth Minsky Sender. It's a Holocaust memoir, and it's soooo good!
And also try Escape from Warsaw by Ian Serraillier. It's another Holocaust book. I'm not 100% sure if it's non-fiction, but I'm pretty positive it is.
