It appears Disney has finally struck a deal for 2017 with Orbitz and Disney Resorts are now available to book on the site!

Good news, but their long delay in getting 2017 rates cost them my business as I booked my two rooms directly with Disney for our February stay (fortunately Disney mailed me an offer/pin code which had a slightly better rate than the public sale prices).

Yeah. Although weirdly, some are showing up as actually a few bucks lower than even the AP rates, so I'd highly recommend people compare the two.

No. You'll need to book through Disney for the dining plan.

I called Disney had them link my reservation. I can't remember if I couldn't do it in MDE or if I just decided to call. Also, make sure you check the mailing address before you have your magic bands shipped because it will most likely have the Orbitz address.

Yes, you can link your Disney resort room reservation to MDE along with tickets from a 3rd party vendor like Undercover tourist. You can still take advantage of Extra Magic Hours, receive free magic bands, make FP+ reservations 60 days in advance, and book free airport transportation on Disney's Magical Express. However, it is impossible to have the dining plan added to any room originally booked on another site.

Yes, you should be able to order them. I'm not sure if it's because you just booked today though. Call Disney for assistance. There are some things Disney isn't able to help you with directly if you booked through a third party, however. Disney may tell you to contact Orbitz, and Orbitz would then contact Disney with the issue. I always try Disney direct first. I've booked Disney hotels through Orbitz twice before with no issues.
