Can't get rid of the carbs. I am trying. I do so well during the day at work (it's my first week back to work in 2 months) but then I get home and I don't go crazy of anything but I do eat carbs. Spaghetti or thin pizza... nothing too bad and not too much of it. I still stuck to my sugar-free fudgsicle.

At lunch this week I have done so well. I'll get lunch meat plain and cut it up and get fresh veggies with low fat dressing. Trying to get lots of water, but new work place took me a while to figure out how to get water (no water bottle dispenser!)

I have been to Curves twice this week. I had a one week free card, went on Tuesday and went yesterday, couldn't find the card!!! Almost turned around and went home but I didn't :) went in and talked to them. Can't join until I get my paycheck in the bank and the women was nice, let me work out but I don't want to press my luck by going back today without being able to join..... I really enjoy the time!!! My body is tired and achy so I know it's working.... I should be drinking more water. Yesterday I was questioning if I would make it through the whole work out!! Maybe I will go sign up tomorrow AM and take today off.

Thinking about getting a firm video or two. I really do feel good when I work out.. don't think I will give up this time... it's just the eating. This AM I had Cream of wheat with a little brown sugar.... I don't eat a lot and I really don't eat bad, but the weight isn't coming off. ONly need to lose 25 lbs... my weight has been like this for a while regardless of what I have eaten so I think my body is happy here... how to kick start!

Sorry so random and not complete sentences. Just getting my thoughts out!

I think I'll go join tomorrow!

couple questions?

are you following a plan or your own plan? makes a difference in the advice to ask for as there are low carbers, portion controllers, WWers, etc on WISH

good for you on your decision to join Curves! there are many Curvy WISHers with lots of success there. Exercise is key imho.

what level of exerciser would you consider yourself? beginner? intermediate? advanced? I don't have any words on the FIRM, I only have one really old FIRM workout, but it's a great intense workout that makes me really sweat! I also like the WATP. IMHO if you are strength training at Curves you shouldn't necessarily strength train at home. Rest and recovery are vital steps in strength training/muscle building/toning. You shouldn't work the same muscles groups two days in a row if you are "strength training" meaning you work the muscles to the point of fatigue and/or they are sore the next day. I know some FIRM workouts use weights, that's where that came from

see, i can random thoughts too :)

what's your water plan at work?

what is your weight loss goals?

I was trying to do the South Beach Diet.... agian the bread is killing me.

I found the water machine and the ice machine... I have a 32 oz plastic bottle from EMS that I am filling up... I am starting my second one right now so that's doing pretty well!

Right now I would like to loose a max of 20 lbs. I started at 164 and am still right around there... did drop down to 162lbs for a little while but no hoovering around the same spot as eating some of those darn carbs....

Goal, to feel good and look better!

Are you eating the bread, pizza and spagetti because that is the only thing to eat or because you are craving it? If it's the only thing to eat, I say clean out your pantry and go shopping for some good stuff. If your craving it....thats a differant story. I had a hard time going on Atkins because I always crave junk food. But I started taking a supplement that really stops the cravings....it was suggested in the Atkins book. Now the only time I crave junk is when I see certain commercials on TV like KFC (had it for lunch....bad me) And water is very very important. At the minimum you should be drinking 64oz...more is better. If you can't make it to Curves try getting some type of exercise in, even if it's just a walk around the block, or jumping rope in your home....anything to get your heart pumping. Keep trying.......don't give up!!!!

Well I hardly every have spaghetti or pizza. We wanted to try a new Italian restaurant and I could help it :)

Usually I do better at dinner than I do during the day but now that I am working it's the opposite!

I will be home agian next week and I am going to stock up and cut veggies and get lunch meat I can eat at home on my own!

Hopefully that will work. Luckily I get away from rice and pasta and potatoes normally... Bread is my weakness! :)

I to often crave bread. I know your not doing Atkins but they just came out with a new bread. They have multi grain, white and I think wheat. 1 piece has a net carb of 3.......and it's allowed during the induction phase....no maybe it would be ok for the SBD. Your allowed 1 piece a day. I'll admit it doesn't taste the best and it was expensive but the ham sandwich that I had the other night was like a slice of heaven!

but there is a SBD thread -- have you seen it?

ok, i'll just share my .02

first off, find a PM buddy. someone you can check in with daily to keep yourself accountable. Maybe you'll decide to "challenge" each other, you know 15 more mins of exercising each day, 2 extra glasses of water each day, etc etc. My PM buddies have been my lifeline, we evolved into a group of 5 of us that email each other quite frequently for almost a year! wowsers!! i love these ladies, they are a huge contributor to my success.

next -- baby steps -- change one thing at a time, focus on that change and not the big picture. it's too overwhelming. I have been a WISHer for a year now and there are still changes I haven't made and aspire too. that's ok. this is a lifestyle for me and I need to change as I'm ready and not before or it doesn't work.

lastly -- find a lifestyle that works for you, one you are totally in sync with. For me that's WW, b/c I can make my choices and it helps me portion control and stop when I have enough calories for the day. Maybe giving up the carbs isn't for you and that's ok, find a plan that works for YOU. YOU are sooo worth it!

PD and:hug: to you my friend -- the first step is always the hardest. I had about 20 lbs to lose too, I know it's hard but you will feel sooo much better physically and energetically. it's the best gift you can give yourself, the gift of health!::yes::

You can make yourself some very good low-carb "bread"... this is one of my new favorites. Great dipped in a little oil, by itself, or as a sandwich...

There are also some good recipes for protein and flax muffins on the Eating Healthy board... see the Low Carb Recipe Index thread.

Sherrie's Italian Flat Bread

Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Don't skip the pre-heat!!
Cut a piece of parchment paper the size of the pizza pan or cookie sheet to pour the batter on.

8 oz cream cheese
4 large eggs
1/2 cup almond flour
1/4 cup grated Parmesan Cheese
1 tsp Garlic Salt or fresh minced garlic
1 tsp baking powder
3/4 cup Atkins baking mix
1 tsp salt / pepper

I throw all of the ingredients above in a food processor and blend until smooth and creamy. Add the cheese below and hand stir in until blended well with mixture.

1 cup Italian shredded cheeses ( most stores have a package mix available)

Spread onto parchment paper and sprinkle with: 1 tsp Italian seasonings

Bake until dark brown. Remove from oven and brush on the 1 tbsp olive oil. Great warm or use for sandwiches. We use it to make Italian style deli sandwiches!

Divide into 10 servings @ 2.6 carbs each

Good suplements to take when you're craving sugar/starch/flour are chromium (chromium picolinate or chromium polynicotate are best) and L-glutamine.

If you're on Atkins or another low carb diet I recommend reading Dr. Atkins' Vita-Nutrient Solution or some other book on supplements. Personally, in addition to taking a good multivitamin, I take extra Vitamin C, E, and B complex, plus chromium, and fish oil supplements.

How is it going today, DMickey28? Finding the eating plan for you is key to success. You sound like you might do well with the WW program which allows small amounts of the foods you love so well.

Or even consider "eating sensibly" and keep your calorie intake lower.

Good luck with this, you can do it :)
