DW gave me the :thumbsup2 to add on... I have been scouring the resale sites looking for something...anything!

I told her that since she decided that it was ok to add on, that she could choose where at!

she said (and I quote) "I like BLT, and I like AKL, I like BCV, and BWV's too!" she continued "Wilderness Lodge is good, and Vero would be good to have for a few days"

Then she says "I picked BLT, so you pick this time"

I love VGC!!! But its DL and not WDW, which is the only drawback.

Looking at a 50, 75 or 100 point add on depending on things, Also, still looking for a good resale...

If you were buying direct from Dinsey, where would you add on???

Tough one. Our first contract was at OKW and then we bought BCV. We have since stayed at AKVs, WLVs, VB and HH. If I was in the market for points, not sure where I would add.

It's a good problem, :) - can't wait to offer you our congratulations!!!!!!!

hmm... that's a nice problem to have :)

Let's see from your sig it looks like you have BW and BLT, now unless you feel like you are always running out of points at those locations I would pick another HR.

I would nix out BCV just because you already have BW, but then if you love BCV and would like to stay there at popular times then maybe it's a good choice for you.

Now AKL is a good option if you like AK area and it's a different resort are than BW and BLT.... so it's something different. Plus if you ever want to stay at CL level, you practically have to call at 11mo out.

I don't know much about Vero... sorry

My personal favorite is GCV. If you think that you will visit the west coast Disney frequently I would pick this one. It's a small and beautiful resort. Plus the only one that you can walk right into the park from the hotel... :cloud9:
Can't beat that. But if you don't plan to visit there regularly then it might be a waste for you.

Anyways, good luck picking!!!! :thumbsup2

I would still add on at BCV (in fact we just did!). It still has a totally different feel than BWV. It is really hard to get a ressie unless you can go off seasons, and even then it depends on the accomodations. Also, BCV has dedicated two-bedrooms (which BWV does not).

Im always up for a BCV add on:banana: Especially since we have done it 5 times already there:rotfl2:

We have a Dec UY, so if I add on in the next 4-6 weeks, I will get '09 points... So I need to take my time to figure out where I really want to add on!

I would say right now that VGC is about 60% the favorite! But things can change fast!

First, based on your Join Date (to the left), let me take a moment to say Happy DIS Annaversary, Arthur! party:

Now as to which resort, since you have a decent list of resorts you'll be happy owning, maybe you could consider other criteria to hel with the search. I would suggest ranking the following in order of prference: price, number of points, and UY. Whichever resort on your list meets one or more of these criteria, buy that contract. This way you can satisfy the harder to match parameters first.

Good luck!

Direct for us would be more points at BCV. The last time we added on there was in '08 and we paid $105, and I thought the price was high then. It blows my mind that they're asking and getting $115 for it now. I'm not sure I want to pay that much, but it's the only resort that I would buy direct at this time.

If you like VGC and are buying a smaller contract then you could use the points every 3rd year, which may work for you. I live on the East coast so DL trips for us will be at the most every 3 years in which time I plan on using 3 years worth of points. If we go less often or do not use all points we get a bonus of a long weekend booking at 7 months in wdw!

Wow, wow, wow. And to think we paid 84.00 a point for BCV back in 2002. Thank God we took the plunge then.:thumbsup2

I would buy where you already own, same use year. And it's just me, but once you start getting multiple resorts I would think it would ge confusing juggling the points, get two 50 point add ons to what you already own, easy to add on, easy to sell if you needed to.

Does the contract life make a difference to you? At this point I think that's a big deal.

If it doesn't and I were going to add on it would be VWL for me. I love that resort and its smallish. We own BWVs already - and owning there for the ability to book standard view for "almost sure" is great. We like almost everything about those two resorts.

If it does - SSR provides a LOT of value resale compared to pretty much anything else. I'm not an SSR fan myself, but I do like a bargain! I want to like BLT, but something there is leaving me cold, and the price is too high. I'd end up with VAKL, I love the animals and the resort - dislike the decor and location.

If you think you want to go to DLR regularly I'd get VGC..it will be hard to get at 7 months out. But..I'd get confused juggling different resorts (and maybe use years) so if taht'san issue I'd add on where you already own.

I'd do a 100 pt addon at SSR, giving me enough points for a THV every year for a week.

:) Well the same architect designed VWL, AKV and VGC. So if I LOVED VGC I would be hard pressed to get 50-75 points there and go every three years. If I knew I wanted to be at WDW I would choose the other two which are more like it in look and feel. Hence our 2009 purchase...

This is our thinking as well... looking to add on sometime within the next two years. Probably going resale..
