Good news and surprise trip

Hi All-

Wanted to share my good news that my 36 yr old husband, who was diagnosed with thyroid cancer last year, just had a "clean" scan today at the hospital. Makes those surgeries and treatments worth it! No better way to celebrate than a last minute trip to the happiest place on Earth. We're planning on staying at BCV for the first time, all by ourselves! Leaving the kids at home! Any tips?

What joyous news. I guess I would suggest doing all the things me and my sweetie can't do because of having the kids along on every trip... Great "adult" things... If you are into fancy food, Victoria and Albert's is supposed to be wonderful. There's also couples' spa treatments at the Grand Floridian. How about dinner and fireworks at the California Grill? You can also shop at Downtown Disney in PEACE, and not just at the stores that sell TOYS!

Where are you staying? Last year there was a hysterical thread about a couple sighted having intercourse on a balcony of the Swan/Dolpin. Now there is the ULTIMATE "no kids along on vacation" activity!

We went to Victoria and Albert's during our honeymoon. It was wonderful. It would be the perfect place to celebrate such great news.

Try the Artist's Point over at WL. It was wonderful!

Get a beach swing, and watch the sunrise (which is about 7:30 right now) while bundled up in a blanket brought from home or a quilt off the bed. We had our coffee with us, and it was such an emotional boost for my day!

Have a big margarita over at Coronado Springs, then share a hammock to watch the sunset--you will need the hammock after you drink their margaritas. They really had a kick!

After the shock you and DH have had, and the emotional roller coaster that this must have been for you both, you need time to relax. Stop and smell the roses (Epcot has nice ones).

Staying at the BCV is a great start. It's so nice to be within walking distance to Epcot, MGM and the BW.

I've heard the California Grill is romantic, I also want to try Jiko.

Just walking around WS at night would be nice.
