I got in touch with Disney Fairy Tale Weddings for the first time and they called me back the same day! :cool1:

But, they had some bad news. I want a September 2007 wedding at Sunset Pointe, but it looks like they are no longer booking weddings there between March and October because it is too uncomfortable for the bride, groom, and guests. :guilty:

BUT, we have two options... either push the wedding to the first week of October (which, if we can check in on September 30th we would still get the free dining IF they offer it next year  )
OR

Go to Disney this year in September to scout locations!!!! :lmao: We know the place inside and out, but have never been to the ceremony sites! So either way it could work out for us... plus we might get to go down when we normally wouldn't have!!

But I think we are gonna push for Sunset Pointe... we used to go to the poly beach to watch the fireworks for our dates when we were on the college program... so it's kinda full circle to have it there, plus you can see the castle.

haha, but I might put off making that choice until we are eating at Ohana and riding Everest this fall :rolleyes1

Sorry to hear that. I had heard that they were going to be limiting Sunset Pointe.

I don't have advice for you about location (although I think a September visit for a "site visit" is a good excuse for a vacation!). Anyway, I think we have a similar story, so I wanted to share.

I also met my fiance during the 2002 College Program. We both worked in Fantasyland at the time. After the CP, he moved back to OH and I stayed in FL to finish college. In 2004, we both moved in New Hampshire, where we live now and I attend graduate school. We just had our 4-year anniversary, so our stories sound similar.

We are getting married on 12/16/06 at the Wedding Pavillion w/ reception at GF. We are heading down to Orlando next thursday for a planning session. The planning goes very quick. We first contacted Disney a year ago, and now our wedding is less than 4 months away!

Whatever location you choose will be wonderful. I don't think you can go wrong at Disney!

Congrats on your engagement and planning. I love hearing the success stories of other CP brides!!!

DisneyBug,

HOW FUN!!!! We met in 2002 as well and we were CPs at Blizzard Beach(as my sig says)!!! He is from Cali, but after 3 months of living apart when our cp ended, he moved here and has been here ever since! I am so happy we are going to do a Disney Wedding! We thought about having a big one here, but it made so much more sense to be there, so we are doing it small but in a BIG way! We are having both families come down a week before and we are going to have a vacation all together.

Having it in October is fun idea because after the wedding we will go to a NSSHP!

Congrats to you and your DF!

I'm sorry to hear about Sunset Pointe being out. If you'd still like an outdoor ceremony, there are lots of locations:
In Epcot World Showcase, beach at WP, YC Gazebo, Sea Breeze Pointe (BIG gazebo on Boardwalk).

A site visit trip sounds wonderful!

You may also want to keep in mind (and you probably already know this) that the guest # is lower for Sunset Pointe. I think there is a limit of 10 guests for this venue.

Happy Planning!
