Hi there! I'm a little bit of a planner ;), and am already starting to think about what restaurants to try when we go in Feb. 2012. We've been to Disney lots of times and have eaten in lots of restaurants. I'd like to try some new ones this time. So, my question is, which of the "newish" restaurants are worth trying. I'm thinking I want to try La Hacienda and Via Napoli. Anyone been to those? And, we've never been to 1900 Park Fare. This will be our little girl's first trip (right after her 1st birthday). So, I thought that might be appropriate. We also have a 4 year old. So, we don't want anything too fancy. Any other suggestions? Again, I'm looking for restaurants that have opened in the past couple years that you recommended (I realize 1900 Park Fare isn't new...just new to us). Thanks! :goodvibes

I've heard great things about Saana at Animal Kingdom Lodge. They may enjoy the animals at the resort, as well.

Have a great trip!

Hmm....that does look interesting. But, I'm afraid my husband might kill me if I make another dining reservation at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. ;) The last time we went was when I was pregnant. I had had enough after a long day at Magic Kingdom and decided just to send him and our son to dinner at Boma to meet his parents. It took them over an hour and a half with Disney transportation, from the Wilderness Lodge, to get there. They were WAY late for their ADR (luckily my in-laws were there on time). He wasn't too happy! Although, I guess we could always take a cab this time.

We went to Via Napoli and it was ok. The pizza was ok, but nothing special. The calamari appetizer was the best part of the meal. As for Park Fare, are you thinking about breakfast or dinner? We have been to both. Alice, Mad Hatter, Pooh, Tigger are there for breakfast and Cinderella, step-sisters, and step-mother were there for dinner. Although, I'm not sure if that is the same line-up for dinner anymore. We thought both meals were on par for disney buffets, but the character interaction for both was exceptional. The step-sisters taunted Cinderella, "booing" her when she entered, and they all stay in character, even when posing for pictures. Alice and Mad Hatter partnered together and were so funny. Good luck in your planning.

we thoroughly enjoyed Park Fare for dinner...the little kiddos get to dance with Cinderella & Prince. The stepsisters & stepmother are great...in character the whole way (stepsisters flirt with the little boys, telling their mother "I want this one, Mother...here's my prince!", etc.

We love the pizza at Via Napoli...Pizza Hut it ain't, though (or any other chain-type pizza you're used to.) If you're adventurous, it's great. Wonderful ice-cream desserts, too.

La Hacienda is good...different from chain-Tex-Mex food, though. Great view of Illuminations if you're lucky enough to get seated near windows in main room by about 7:30 PM (people draw the meal out to keep the table until Illuminations starts at 9:00 PM)

Sanaa is great for animal viewing on the savannah if you have an early dinner reservation (like 5:30) If you go for later dinner, chances are the animals will be gone. But Animal Kingdom Lodge is a great place to visit anyway. After you eat, go back to the main lodge & check it out (like being in a museum/art gallery...even the gift shop is cool.)

If you are looking for good character interaction I would say that Crystal Palace is great for that..Food is ok but the characters were so good there, when my grandtwins are older that is the first place I am taking them :thumbsup2
