I'm planning a trip to CA next year to see Disneyland and a couple other places. I would love to stay at a hotel within walking distance of the parks. I was really looking at the HoJo, it seems so nice and convenient! Do most of you book a Good Neighbor package or do you do the tickets and hotel separately? Just wondering if there are better discounts to be found if I choose not to book through Disney. Also when will prices for next year be released?

Thanks in advance! I'm brand new here but it seems that I'll be able to find tons of info for our trip!

You can often use the entertainment book rate to get really good deals HoJo's. There are also other websites you can use to get tickets at lower prices. Getaway.com is one of them and you can pick your tickets up at the ticket booth. I found them to be convenient and better priced than Disney.com last year. I would also reccomend using Mousesavers.com for research. They are usually very current on the deals that are available.

For our last trip in 2007 we booked a Good Neighbor package because we got four nights for the price of three, plus we wanted the extras that came with the package (Mickeys TTM, pins and backpack). for our trip in December we're booking everything separately.

Well, we have APs so we book our hotel only now. When we go back to getting tickets we will do the package deal, that way we can get the perks and then upgrade our tickets after we use them once. :)

We took a year off in 08, and booked a package this year to get our foot back in the door :) I was pleased with the package we got. We had 6 nights for $ of 5, luggage tags, coupons, vouchers MTTMM lanyard and pin. The little extras helped with the magical anticipation :wizard: for our vacation. Plus we made payments :thumbsup2 that was a biggie for me :)
we turned those park hoppers into APs so now we make just hotel ressies with the hotels.
But we will probably go back to packages if we don't renew our APs next year :) Just compare prices and be sure you book a hotel you like because WDT charges to make changes :scared1:

We are not package people ~ we did use a package for my kids 1st trip (March 2006) ~ we booked through GAT. Now I do it on my own ~ this is our 2nd year having APs - both times we've upgraded our PHs to APs, most recently the PHs were purchased from ARES. I book airfare on my own ~ jetblue.com for the most part. I've used priceline.com twice this year for our hotel and I was pleased both times, I also call HoJo directly when the ent. rate is available.
